Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KHB300WH Hand Blender, WhiteCustomer Review: Makes a HUGE mess! Summary: 2 Stars
I had a Braun Multiquick that I *loved*, and left behind with an ex-boyfriend. Since the Braun is no longer available, I bought this one, since it had good reviews and was in a similar price range so I expected to love it similarly.
The immersion stick makes the BIGGEST MESS! Seriously! It's got those holes in the part around the blade and food squirts out them and goes everywhere every time I lift the holes above the surface level of the food, which is constantly so I can get the food at the top under the blade. I made baby food with it today and everything within a 3-foot radius is now splattered with green beans, and I hope my shirt comes clean!
I really, really miss my Braun... :(
Customer Review: I love this hand blender! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had several hand blenders, and I really like using them. None of them, however, compare to the KitchenAid hand blender. It's solid, and it really has a lot of power. I love the adjustable speed setting--which the others I've used don't have--and I like the detachable pieces. The mixing beaker is much larger than the Braun's, and the nut chopping attachment is really large and solid; it's a mini food processor.
I've been making smoothies for myself almost every day, and it saves dragging the blender out and washing the blender jar, etc. I make food for my animals (cats and dog), and the hand blender helps chop up the meat and vegetables quickly and easily. All in all, this is a great appliance.
Customer Review: A happy purchase Summary: 5 Stars
This unit replaced a KitchenAid blender, which went to our older daughter, and a KitchenAid food processor, which went to our younger daughter. We picked up a chunk of counter space, and for our empty nest, didn't lose much capability. Granted, we must now make gazpacho in a pot, but the overall easier clean-up is a plus. The mini food processor works very well for smaller quantities. This unit comes in 3 models, and only the KHB300 has all the attachments which make this unit so worthwhile. It is well thought out and seems very well made, although 3 months use is hardly a torture test. We bought it on the recommendation of Cook's Illustrated and our happy experiences with 5 other KichenAid products.
Customer Review: Delightful Addition to kitchen tools Summary: 5 Stars
Once introduced to the ease of use of hand blenders, I searched for the best one for me. I have a compromised grip in both hands. This unit has been easy for me to manipulate as a two-handed user. The powerful motor makes fast work out of any blending task from soups and smoothies; making whipping cream; and the chopping attachment is useful. The non-skid bases are effective. From the photo of the blender online, it is difficult to see there is a powercord. I was quite surprised (and a little disappointed) when I saw the powercord, thinking I had ordered a rechargeable unit. However, I prefer this blender as it is powerful and always ready for use. Makes food preparation easier.
Customer Review: needs a cap Summary: 4 Stars
this hand blender is really handy and easy to store, but only the chopping attachment has a cap. for whipping and blending, there is no cap, so I can't put much food into the container because once I turn on the machine, I'm afraid food will fly everywhere. Also, the chopper can only handle a little at a time or else the food only gets chopped at the bottom and there are huge chunks sitting above it that won't fall down to where the blades are. overall, this hand blender is good for making small amounts of food at a time. I've made pesto sauce, whipped cream, and baby food. So far, it's worked out better than the vita-mix I had for these things.
