Customer Review: For the passionate cook Summary: 5 Stars
An immersion blender is not a tool that you use everyday. However, if you enjoy making vinaigrettes, or other blended recipes, the Kitchenaid is a fantastic tool. What differenciates it from all others is the Kitchenaid quality, the "feel" or ergonomics of the tool, the powerful motor, and the adjustable speed control. Before purchasing the Kitchenaid, I bought, and subsequently returned two other brands from local cooking specialty stores. The Kitchenaid comes as a complete kit, which includes chopping and whipping attachments that make this tool ultimately useful. If you are a serious cook, the Kitchenaid should be your choice.
Customer Review: So handy - not just for blending! Summary: 5 Stars
We use this primarily for chopping onions, garlic and other small vegetables and dicing fresh herbs - it's like a small food processor only it's very easy to use and clean. I've also used the immersion blending attachment and the beater and they work fine. I wouldn't recommend it for mashing potatoes as some of the other reviewers have mentioned - they seemed too thick and the motor struggled and got rather warm. All in all we're thrilled because it's easy to use and saves a lot of time and cleanup. The storage bag makes it easy to store. Love it!!
Customer Review: very powerful Summary: 4 Stars
Awesome!
Very powerful, I took about 1/2lb. of mixed nuts and made nut butter with it. I put them in a deep jar and added a teaspoon of olive oil.
It took about 10 minutes of intense grinding and mixing, but it produced a fine liquified nut butter. It would produce chuncky in just a few minutes, but I was grinding for someone with diverticulitis, so it had to be very smooth. I don't know if the attachments will ever be used, but this thing is very powerful. it does get hot when you work it this hard though.
Customer Review: KitchenAid Quality Summary: 5 Stars
This hand blender has been all we could have hoped for. Well made and should last for years. I especially like the variable speeds which most hand mixers don't offer. Have yet to use all the accessories but will in due time. Owned one other varible speed unit purchased through a popular TV shopping network show and it just didn't hold up at all. Big name but lacking in quality. Always sworn by KitchenAid products and this handy unit comes highly recommended. It easily meets or exceeds this homes standards.
