Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KHB300OB Hand Blender, Onyx BlackCustomer Review: The best hand blender around Summary: 5 Stars
After almost a month of usage - I have got to say that this is if not the best - atleast the most convenient hand-blender around.
This item comes with 3 seperate attachments. The motor is housed as a seperate assembly. This is good - as it makes cleanup a snap. (All the attachments - except for the motor - are dish-washer safe)
There maybe cheaper hand-blenders out there - but from as far as I can tell from my searches - the Kitchen Aid is the only one that allows you to dial in the speed of the motor.
For most applications the lowest speed is enough - but for whisking - its good to have the higher speed options.
The blender does a great job. And as its made out of metal - you can take it to the hottest foods without a worry. And as its made out of metal - it does not take on the stain from foods - like when you work with tomatoe paste or indian spices like turmeric.
I absolutely love the chopper. It does a great job on onions - and actually chops it instead of making a paste out of it. (Though on tomatoes - it doesnt do a good job chopping - so use it for crushing tomatoes). And again cleanup is a breeze - as the chopper can be rinsed under water - or thrown into the dishwasher.

Customer Review: excellent product Summary: 5 Stars
I was very concerned before buying this product because it was only 200 watts. I owned Braun 200 watts before and was not that happy with its performance. My sister had Braun 400 watts and hers was quite powerful when it came to chopping. But unfortunately, Braun doesn't sell anything beyond 200 Watts in US, so I settled for KitchenAid after reading all the good reviews about it even though it was little expensive than the other makes.
But I am really amazed how powerful this 200 Watts gadget is. Its extremely fast and effective, I must say better than Braun 400 Watts even on speed 1.Chopper works excellent on onions, Tamotoes, veggies and have saved so much of my time.It actually chops them to the finest possible and gravies have become an easy job now. Blender works just fine too.I just wish they had a bigger beaker than this size.I haven't used whisk yet so I am unable to comment about that.Cleaning the unit is easy too.
Also, I am glad that its being of steel/ and black in color decoloring will be minimum esp with spices like turmeric which had decolored my old braun.
I am extremely glad that I made this choice. Cooking has become lot more easier now.
And yeah, delivery was smooth and intime.
Customer Review: Awesome Product, Strongly Reccomend Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I received this blender as a wedding present. We had registered for it because it seemed to be the best product out there and we were right on the money!
This is my favorite of the appliances I own. I use the mini-food processor attachment the most. It is a life saver for casseroles and soups, anything that calls for vegetables to be diced into little pieces. I just quarter a small onion and throw it in the cup, put on the lid and use the lowest setting. It also keeps the inevitable tearing up I get from onions to a minimum.
Everything comes apart beautifully and easily for washing and you can throw all the pieces except of course for the electric part, in the dishwasher.
The beaker comes with a lid so I often use it for scrambling eggs for the next morning or salad dressings. The blade on the mixer itself LIQUIFYS nuts if you want it too.
Everything fits nicely in its drawstring bag, which I have a hook in my kitchen I hang it on so its always within reach. I would recommend keeping the cord tie that comes in the packaging because it keeps it nicely folded up and untangled.
Whether you're buying for yourself or as a gift, this is the hand blender to buy! Well worth the money.
Customer Review: Whips like a pro!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I learned a long time ago, if you go KitchenAid, you go for life. They make the highest quality, longest life products I have ever seen. This hand mixer is the third of its kind I've owned. I've had two of the Braun models and they died out after about a year of average use. I finally got the KitchenAid and it has been going strong for a few years now. I really like having the ability to go down to the bottom of a large pot, a full 8". Even though it is of substantial weight, it fits your hand like a glove. I found it far superior to the Braun, as a matter of fact, it doesn't even compare.
The plastic cup with lid makes an excellent accessory since you can mix and store without wasting time. The chopper is the most efficient I have seen, does a better job that a food processor. I especially like the multi-speed dial. It goes from 1 to 9 so it has the power you need, when you need it. Egg white or whip cream doesn't even challenge it, the whipping attachment makes sure of that. This baby handles like a pro. There are times when you don't need the big mixer and the immersion blender really fills in nicely. You won't be disappointed with the quality, power or its sleek look.
Customer Review: Unsanitary Summary: 1 Stars
I bought my KitchenAid KHB300 and loved it. Until one day after having a mild cases of food poisoning in a month I noticed the plastic disc between the blade and housing had a few food particles trapped in it. I set about trying to clean it. Try 1: Ran the immersing head in boiling water. I was shocked at the residue that came out. Try 2: Eventually after a lot of work popped the plastic disc & ran immersible head again very gently in more boiling water. Still had residue under loosened disc. Scrubbed with a small brush until I was satisfied with cleaning job. Try 3: Disc would not snap back in place. Try 4: I eventually removed the disc & was appalled at how much residue still remained.
Cleaned unit added a dab of lithium grease to shaft, put it all back together & now it works wonderfully & is easy to clean. I contacted KitchenAid and they sent me an email back stating that they were sorry that I was unhappy about their product. No other comment from them.
Do I love my KHB300, yes. Is it worth buying, no. Why because I believe it is a health risk.
