Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KFPW760WH 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, White

Customer Review: Widemouth not useable for larger items
Summary: 3 Stars

Ok, I don't know why none of the other reviews mention this since it seriously reduces the unit's usefulness.

It contains an idiot switch (presumably for safety reasons) in the large feed tube that requires the large food pusher to be about a third of the way inserted before the blades will operate. Once this is inserted, there is only a few inches of height left if using one of the shredding/slicing disks. What were they thinking???

When I bought this I figured it'd be great for shredding lettuce for tacos, slicing potatoes, etc. It just won't work for these purposes. I'm thinking of returning it.

Customer Review: The Shredding Attachment
Summary: 4 Stars

I use my Kitchen-Aid 12-Cup Food Processor alot, but rarely for shredding. Today I used the shredding attachment to make cole slaw. While shredding the cabbage, the blade embedded itself into the plastic cover and the shaft in the middle, holding the blade, is now frozen -- I cannot get it off of the center powershaft. I thought, at first, I had done something wrong, but realized that I had followed directions and that the processor was only half full. I called KitchenAid Customer Service and found them very helpful. Without question, KitchenAid is sending me a new unit. I probably will never shred anything again.

Extremely happy with this new purchase. Am enjoying the option of 3 different size bowls. Assembly is a breeze - even the juicer works easily. Very handy to have a box for storage of accessories. I used a Cuisinart for years, struggled with inconvenient assembly, and had to invent my own storage. Part of the reason I bought the KitchenAid was for the wide mouth; I was tired of cutting things up small enough to go through the small Cuisinart mouth. The new machine is quieter than the old one; however it does take up more counter space. Highly recommend this model to anyone who does frequent & varied food processing.

Customer Review: KitchenAid Food Processor
Summary: 4 Stars

KitchenAid KFPW760WH 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, WhiteThis food processor is sturdily built. The quality of the processor bowls is exceptional. The only negative comment I can make is that, when you use the small bowls, the food gets on the rim of the large bowl so you might just as well not use the small bowls; you'll have to wash the big one anyway. I really like the plastic box that holds all the periferals. You never have to search for anything; it's right there in the box.

Customer Review: Food processor supreme!
Summary: 5 Stars

For years we had been thinking about getting a food processor. There are only two of us. Watching many cooking shows featuring a processor finally turned the trick. The ratings and reviews of the KitchenAid made the decision easy. We received our 12 cup processor and I immediately went to the recipe section of the manual. We made a sour cream cheesecake. This cheesecake came out as good as any we've ever tasted. We've since made a few other recipes. It is truly a wonderful kitchen tool. Many great attachments, easy to use, very high quality and nice and quiet. Get one!
