Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KFP750OB 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, Onyx Black

Customer Review: the best!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have gone through so many food processor that I lost count so I finally spent the money on a kitchenAid and I don't think I will have to buy another one for a long long time if ever. This machine is alot heavier than the cheap ones even the plastic bowls are made with a heavier plastic and you also get a nice plastic box to put your extra blades in. When I say bowls with an s it's because you get a mini bowl also which goes inside the bigger bowl. You get alot of extra things with it which I didn't expect when I purchased this . It is well worth the money and it has alot of power. The book gives you tips on how to process certain things like cheese ( which always broke my other machines.) This one shreds cheese like nothing. It has alot of power and you can't go wrong with this machine. It isn't red like alot of the kitchaid stuff but who cares. I like the black and it beats paying over $200 for the red. I think this machine will handle shredding cheese and many other things for a long time. It's a great purchase and I highly recommend it. You can't go wrong.

Customer Review: One of the Best Home Food Processors
Summary: 5 Stars

I've owned a KitchenAid KFP750OB 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor for several years. When I bought it, it was to replace an equivalent sized Cuisinart. I've used it for everything from making pizza dough to grating potatoes. It's sufficiently powered to make enough dough for about a 1.5 lb. loaf of bread. The motor cannot handle more dough and bogs down. I also own a KitchenAid 500-Watt stand mixer. Although it has significantly less published power, it can handle far more bread dough. I recently purchased another KitchenAid KFP750OB for my daughter as a gift. Amazon was offering one color for 129.95.

The biggest problem with this processor as it compares to the Cuisinart of equal size is that the lid on the KitchenAid has several ridges which are very difficult to clean; a real design flaw.

Commercially, I've worked with both Robot Coupe and Waring professional food processors. Were they not seven times the price of the KitchenAid, I'd definitely rather have either one in my home. The KitchenAid is very serviceable for home use.

Customer Review: For the price, a good machine
Summary: 4 Stars

This replaced a very old Cuisinart and so far, it's working well. I will say that the Cuisinart was quieter, and I liked the way the bowl on the Cuisinart actually "attached" to the base when locked in place. On the KitchenAid, I find that the bowl moves around a fair bit when mixing dough. Granted, it works fine, it's just a difference. I really like the feeder tube setup on the KitchenAid; it's easy to use and it works well. It is taller than the Cuisinart, but still fits under my cabinets. I wish I could get a flat lid for it like I had for my Cuisinart. I mostly use my FP with the steel blade, and the flat lids are a lot easier to to clean up & fit in the DW better. I have not used the mini bowl yet, but it seems like it should be a useful thing. While the quality is very good and I can't complain about it, I will say that my older Cuisinart felt more solid. I have no experience with a newer Cuisinsart, so I can't compare. The price on the Onyx KitchenAid, which I purchased, was excellent, so for the $$, it's working out well so far.

Customer Review: Makes lots of things go quickly
Summary: 5 Stars

I have never had a food processor before, but it seemed like half the recipes lately that looked interesting required pureeing something.
The first thing I learned was that you should have several things that you want to use this for when you get it out. The first time I tried it, to slice some potatoes, it took longer to set the machine up than to slice the potatoes!
Because several reviewers mentioned it, I tried using it to make cookie dough. It worked OK, but if that's the main thing you are planning to do, you'd probably be happier with a mixer.
I am very happy with the way it purees things (mostly for soups and sauces, but I've also used it to make falafel), but my absolutely favorite thing about it so far has been using the mini bowl to chop parsley. Chopping parsley by hand has always been way down on my list of things I like to do in the kitchen, and doing it with the food processor yielded finely chopped parsley almost instantly and with minimal mess. I envision more parsley in my future.

Customer Review: An Amazing Machine!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read every review for this product, and had a difficult time believing that people were so happy with this little machine. However, after using it to make Wolfgang Puck's Apple Coleslaw (in about a quarter of the time versus pre-machine), I too gladly gush! The best features are (1) it's extremely quiet (important in kitchens with ceramic floors, marble countertops and stainless steel appliances, where noise reverberates off everything); (2) it's super powerful; it ground steak into burger meat with little fuss; (3) for the price, it has 1001 uses (and appears to be exceptionally well made); (4) every single part is dishwasher safe (this is a huge plus); (5) the mini bowl is a stroke of genius (wish it could be used with a greater variety of blades, but maybe in the next edition). The power, versatility and ease of cleanup of this machine has made daunting tasks do-able, and inspired me to try recipes I previously thought too labor intensive for the result. Kitchenaid comes through again!
