Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KFP740WH 9-Cup Food Processor, WhiteCustomer Review: KitchenAid food processor Summary: 4 Stars
Big fan of KitchenAid products. This is unbelievably quiet and very powerful. The only 2 negatives that I see have been on previous reviews--1)the inside stem is way too short which severely limits the amount of liquid that can be in the bowl without leaking all over the counter; 2)the slicer width is too narrow, and I am not about to spend big bucks to buy the additional disc package. Overall, it's a fine product but I don't understand why these problems have happened. My previous processor was a KitchenAid, and these problems didn't exist on it.

This food processor has a very powerful motor, and can handle all of your chopping needs. It is also very easy to put together and use. I purchased this for the dough making capability and was disappointed because the dough blade was made of plastic and the threads stripped out after 2 months, making it useless. The plastic dough blades do not seem to hold up to the power of the motor, and the kneading action puts a lot of stress on the blade insert where it attaches to the base. Great for chopping, not so great for dough.
Customer Review: Good Kitchenaid product Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this since March and liked the look of the food processor. I chose the KA over Cuisinart b/c the KA looked more sturdy. The KA is very heavy, which is a good thing and the 9 cup is the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. It shreds an 8 oz block of cheese in 3 seconds. I have used it for shredding cheese, carrots, and grinding grahmn crackers, bread crumbs, and chicken. I haven't actually learned how to make it so the food processor doesn't completely pulverize the food to little pieces.

It has nothing to do with Kitchen Aid, it is a good processor, but it lacks adequate cutting components so that everything comes out virtually chopped and ground. I mean there is no way to alter the coarseness or finesse of the cuts. Would not have gotten it, had I known it was like that, because I had an old Cuisinart and that was in comparison a work of art and great to use. Furthermore, the recipe book sent along by Kitchen Aid, was meager and a grim example of what I was trying to express all along.
Customer Review: love it!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to replace my cuisinart duet (the gear box on it kept breaking - but blender worked great). I absolutely love it. I use it almost daily for everything from shredding cheese to combining dry ingredients for pancakes, etc. (works a lot better than trying to stir or sift). Its overall footprint isn't too large, so it doens't take up too much counter space. It feels sturdy - just like a Kitchenaid should! Between this and my Artisan standmixer, Kitchenaid has earned a loyal customer!
