Remember upgrading your ride from a beat up jalopy to a really finely engineered automobile? That's what using this food processor feels like to me after using a small, loud, basic (but functional) one for years. This machine is so quiet you can have a conversation while it's running! That's new for me! It is well designed and heavy. The bowls feel really sturdy and it's a breeze to clean. Really! The small 4 cup bowl inside the bigger 9 cup bowl is ingenius. You don't have to find extra storage for the little one while not in use, and it's really smart; one food processor for small and large jobs. You can't go wrong with this one. I've only just started using it, but forsee many years of pesto, sauces, dressings and other foods.Customer Review: Great purchase!

Slices, dices, shreds with massive power. You should see what this baby can do to a block of mozzarella! I don't think making salsa will ever be the same (because it will be so easy!).
The unit is very heavy, so to get maximum use, be sure to clear some space on the counter.
My only complaint is that this model does not support the juice extractor that kitchen aid makes for other 9 cup models (only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars). Some sites suggest that their extractor will work on this model, but I emailed Kitchen Aid and they confirmed what others have said, you can't use their extractor on this particular 9-cup model. Boo.

I received this today and it is a beautiful addition to my kitchen! It is so sleek that I may even be keeping it out on the counter instead of hidden in the cabinet. I've never seen a food processor at this capacity looking so neat and of sleek design.
Of course I had to try it out on something, but what? I had none of the right ingrediants to prepare fresh salsa, wish I did! What I did have is a half of a container of heavy cream, so my 8 year and 5 year old kids and I poured it into the 4Cup bowl and within minutes we had fresh homemade butter to spread on our hot loaf of bread that just came out of the oven! I will report back again after making a few more things yummy goodness!

I received this food processor as a gift for Christmas. I've had a smaller Kitchenaid food processor for many years and loved it, but I think it was a 5 cup and was too small for many jobs.
This 9 cup model is fantastic! I've already used it about 10 times to chop veggies, make hummus, etc. I diced an entire package of celery in about 30 seconds. I make bread frequently, so I'll be very interested to see how it handles bread dough. I love the four cup bowl as well. Not only can I do two different jobs without having to wash a bowl and blade first, but the 9 cup bowl is just too big for some jobs.
I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this to anyone!

This was a Christmas gift from my husband replacing a 23 year old food processor. I cook a lot and the KitchenAid (KFP740CR) 9-cup food processor is quite, powerful and clean up is a breeze. It comes with a little bowl that fits within the regular sized bowl for working with smaller quantities. I like that it can chop herbs without crushing them or making them 'mushy'. The bowls and lid design have simple lines and curves, without those little nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean. The ON, OFF and PULSE buttons are flat and sealed on the base....easy to use, easy to clean. I have other KitchenAid products which have lasted a very long time. I would reccommend this food processor.
