Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KFP740CR 9-Cup Food Processor with 4-Cup Mini Bowl, Chrome

Customer Review: Robust power but...
Summary: 5 Stars

...well, nothing really to complain in terms of quality, sleek design..but there's something to be said about the blade "part" in the big bowl. Some of you know what I'm talking about.

Since you bought this 9-Cup exactly for its ability to store that much stuff, you'll definitely (most of the time) have enough content to maybe quarter fill it, and that's enough.

Once you have that, when you decide to pull out that blade, you'll be creating a hole in the center and whatever that "part" was keeping in your bowl will now take its place outside the bowl.

I read another review that mentioned this and once I learned the hard way, then I immediately thought of that assessment.

Unfortunate since now I had to clean that sleek chrome -- and the counter. Not really a big deal but you just have to remember to pull it out once you've emptied quite a bit of stuff out.

Customer Review: This ones a winner!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely love this food processor. The first time I used it to chop some onions I was wondering why it wasnt working. It was so quiet and I kept on waiting for it to make loud noises while chopping. Well no loud noises and before I knew my onions became a puree. :). I was so used to my old Hamilton-Beach loud noised food processor that when this one did not make any noise I thought it wasnt working. But it did a wonderful job quietly.
It is very quiet. You can be running this and having a conversation with somebody at the same time.
It also does dough. I do that pretty regularly to make indian rotis of the wheat flour.
It comes with a 4-cup bowl which is a life-saver in situations when you have little garlic to be chopped or a small onion. You dont have to use the big 9-cup bowl, the 4-cup does all the small jobs beautifully.

All in all, a great investment, a MUST-HAVE!!

Customer Review: Extremely impressed!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been looking for a food processor for a long time, reading reviews, checking Consumer Reports, etc., and when I came across this model and all the reviews on Amazon, I decided to buy it.

I absolutely love this food processor - it does everything that I'd hoped for, it is extremely easy to use and to clean, and it looks very handsome on my counter. The workmanship and materials are very sturdy and, compared to other food processors I've heard at friends' homes, it is not noisy at all.

The very first recipe that I made was to puree some apricots, grind almonds, and combine all other ingredients to stuff chicken breasts. My guests were blown away with the creamy consistency of the apricots. I also made the appetizers using the food processor and each one turned out superb.

I am truly impressed with this unit. The price is well worth it.

Customer Review: Best Food Processor I ever owned.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have never written a review on a product before, but I am so impressed with this appliance I felt compelled to do so. I have owned several highend food processors in past including the original Cuisinart when it first came out several years ago. The biggest plus is the design. The bowls are curved instead of straight sided which means you don't have to constantly stop and scrap them down. This also helps to prevent over processing and and gives you an even dice. The mini bowl is another great feature for small quick jobs. Small foot print for it's capacity and powerful yet quiet operation. A cinch to clean bewteen jobs, just a quick wipe with a soapy sponge and a warm water rinse and your ready to go on to the next ingredient. Comes with all the attachments you'll ever need. The Black and Chrome finish looks great on my counter.

Customer Review: So far, so good
Summary: 4 Stars

Seems very substantial. I have had it 2 months and have made cookie dough, pizza dough, thanksgiving stuffing, and soup, among other things. It did leak a bit with the soup, but then again, the soup recipe makes 12 cups, so why wouldn't a 9 cup processor leak with 12 cups of fluid in it? It feels very weighty and I don't have safety concerns about the "flimsiness" of the lid that others have described. My reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars is just that, for this price, I think ANY food processor should come with some kind of blade storage device. Once this FP is unpacked, the blades are just loose in a bag, and yes, I cut myself in the first 5 days I had it. I am now looking for that storage device...but wishing it was included and spared me a sliced finger!
