Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KFP720OB 7-Cup Food Processor with 3-Cup Mini Bowl, Onyx BlackCustomer Review: Good quality. Summary: 4 Stars
So far I'm very pleased with my KitchenAid food processor. The 7 cup size isn't too big to leave on the counter, so you tend to use it even more often than if you had to drag it out every time. It was a little heavier than I expected, but being on the counter it doesn't matter.
The only thing I haven't been pleased with is chopping garlic. But I've only tried it in the 7 cup, not the 3 cup mini bowl, which is recommeded. I also haven't used the slicer blade yet, as I bought it primarily for chopping. It takes a little practice to get the right size chop. It has more power and takes less time to do the job than my old food processor did.
All in all I'm very happy with this product and I would recommend it.
Customer Review: the maximum liquid level sucks! Summary: 1 Stars
I just took delivery of this unit and I am horribly disappointed. I got it to primarily make sauces and I expected a 7 cup capacity. Yet, now that I see this thing in person, I see that the maximum liquid line is at 2 to 2.5 cups. How lame! To think that I bought this thing to replace my Cuisanart Mini Prep because it had a small 2.25 cup capacity. Its going back. Darn it, burned again by buying something off the internet.
Searching the web, I found that the VFP12BK VIKING 12 cup food processor boasts a large liquid capacity for sauces/pestos. Its a bit bigger and more expensive but I would rather have what I want/need. I will likely order that from Amazon as a replacement to this one that is headed back today!
Customer Review: It works so well! Summary: 5 Stars
I am so pleased with this food processor! The last one I purchased was from 1983, and I didn't realize what an improvement this would be. To its credit my old GE still ran, but I wanted something that was quieter and that would not wander over the counter when I used it. This Kitchen Aid processor is quiet, holds still, and makes the best carrot coins! With my '83 GE, I had given up on having them actually turn out to be coins. There were carrot parts left on top of the blade, and the carrots were diagonal shapes. I usually just cut the carrots by hand if I wanted coins. What an improvement! It also stores well. I thought it might take up more room, but I can store it in the same place as my old one.
Customer Review: Better than what I had before Summary: 5 Stars
We needed to replace a very old Cuisinart DLC-10 which had a cracked workbowl that was no longer available. After way too much research we settled on this KitchenAid model and so far we have no reason to question our choice. The KFP720 is as powerful but much quieter than what it replaced. We are really pleased to have the mini-chopper insert but the comments about difficulty in storing it when the chopper and blade are inserted are accurate. This is, in the scheme of things, a small inconvenience.
Everyone knows what a food processor does so no need to be specific. I would point out that the blades are incredibly sharp so please handle with care (as you may infer, I did not!).
Customer Review: Easy Processor Summary: 5 Stars
KitchenAid KFP720ER 7-Cup Food Processor with 3-Cup Mini Bowl, Empire Red Food processor can be handy...but in fact they often sit unused because most are hard to clean or changing attachments is time consuming...they are supposed to speed things up, not make it slower then doing it by hand! Well the KitchenAid is super quick to change attachments on and very easy to clean. Finally a food processor that makes life easier!! I got the 7 cup with mini bowl because there are only two of us at home now, but all the sizes work the same -- just choose the one thats right for you -- you will love it!
