Customer Review: I turned to Kitchenaid after bad exp with Cuisinart and glad I did

I spent extensive hours last year trying to pick the best food processor since I am an avid cook, but 80% of the time I do so for only 2 adults and a child. Decided first to go with a Cuisinart 11 cup food processor (newer models not the "square" base ones). Paid lots of money, bought lots of extra discs. Too much space in my counter and too much space for extra parts stored in cabinets. But BOY was it versatile. Unfortunately the motor burned out after only 3 months of use. Cuisinart's customer service is beyond horrible. After being treated like I was asking them for a handout when you just expect them to fulfill their warranty promises and having different overly priced appliances fail me in less than 3 months time, I am anti-Cuisinart. Yeah, they claim to have the "longest warranty of products in the market", but they try to squirm out of it, treat you like a criminal, and make you pay for shipping (no less than 30 dlls for food processor each way).
Kitchenaid, on the other hand, also has a few quality issues. 6 months use and the top of the handle where the locking mecanism is broke. However I just called, gave them my address and place of purchase, and presto! I get a new bowl within 10 days. Very courteus and effective.
If you are looking for a reasonably price appliance that doesn't take up too much counter space and cook for a small family, I think this one is perfect for you. The extra blades are easy to use and take care of your most common needs. I do wish they had extra blades for the 7 cup size, or that the slicer had adjustable thicknes/shred size. It would be PERFECT.
