The positive and negative reviews are both correct. This coffee maker makes lukewarm coffee and uses a lot of grounds due to a lower brew temperature. I happen to like coffee that has is brewed at a temperature that extracts the flavor and caffeine, but not the astringent oils. I also like to drink it right away without burning my mouth. If you like scalding, bitter coffee, look elsewhere, but if you agree with me, this coffee maker is an incredible deal.Customer Review: Discontinued coffee maker

This coffee maker is a good coffee make but Kitchenaid no longer makes this coffee maker. They havent for 3 years. I call Kitchenaid about the set buttons and they asked the ser.# and they said they stopped making the thermo-craft coffee maker a long time ago. I guess some stores have old stock. Any way kitchenaid sent a new coffee maker no charge but not the thermo-craft. That was the reason I bought it.Customer Review: cold coffee

This coffee maker made tasteless, luke warm coffee. The thermal carafe was good quality, but the coffee just didn't brew hot. Every mormiing we heated the carafe and our mugs, but still the coffee marginal. I finally had to go out and buy a second coffee maker. For $50 I got a Cuisinart maker that brews excellent, hot coffee. It doesn't have a thermal pot, but it is 100% better.Customer Review: Looks good, coffee not hot or flavorful

Coffee not as hot as even I'd like. And I like to have it tempered enough to drink right away. Like others have said, you need to put it in the microwave to make it warm. I ignored these reviews thinking they were from people that needed it scalding hot. NOT SO!!! I believe flavor is limited in this maker too... This coffee maker is fabulous and will not disappoint you if you are a coffee lover. The coffee flavor is full and rich, coffee is hot and stays hot in the thermal carafe. I am so glad I purchased it for my husband for fathers day. We are on vacation now and he misses the full flavor of the coffee it makes. Thanks Kitchen Aid.
