Customer Review: VERY NICE PAN at a Nice Price - Please read update.

This is an exceptionally nice quality pan for the price. Sure you can buy cheaper pans at a discount store, but they don't cook right, feel right or last very long. This pan is porcelain over aluminum on the entire outside including the bottom and the inside has a nonstick finish. Plus it lays perfectly flat on the bottom, which is very important when cooking on my ceramic glass top stove.
The non stick finish started to come off on my previous 8 inch pan, it was time for a new one. I thought I'd try this KitchenAid pan since it had such good ratings here on Amazon. Besides this pan is much nicer looking than it's black counterpart.
I don't use a 8 inch pan often, I normally use my Calphalon Commercial Nonstick 10-Inch International Griddle/Crepe Pan for most of my fry cooking." Which happens to be an excellent pan ". But this pan comes in handy for certain smaller items. The widest point on top of this pan is 8 1/2 inches and the inside frying aria is only 6 inches. That was a little smaller than I would have liked or anticipated. But that inside size is still workable for me. The walls of this pan has a steep slope allowing you to easily slide out eggs, omelets or what have you. It has an extremely nice looking handle, that is oven safe up to 400 degrees.
This is a nice looking more burgundy than red pan, that not only looks nice but cooks well also. It heats up fast and evenly and the nonstick finish releases the food nicely. I just hope the nonstick finish holds up with time.
UPDATE +++ I have had the pan nearly a year now and it cooks well and the non stick finish has held up well on the bottom of the pan. However the non stick finish is starting to come off around the top ring of the pan where it meets the red porcelain. I lowered my 5 star rating to 4 stars because of this. I hope it stops there since it does not effect the food or cooking as it is.
