I like breakfast. I like crispy golden hashbrowns and over-easy eggs with runny yolks. And sometimes I like omelets with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, sausages, and cheese. This thing will make all of them very rapidly and does a great job every time, without heating up your kitchen in the middle of the summer.
I'm sure you can cook other things with it, but that's all I have tried with it so far, and I have been very pleased. As the weather cools down and winter sets in, I may go back to using my stovetop to make breakfasts to warm up the kitchen, but I can tell you this, next summer I will definitely be using this omelet maker to cook my breakfasts again.
It has two sides-- one side is a big flat hot plate that I use for cooking hashbrowns and over easy eggs. The other side is for making omelets. To be honest, I just use the flat side for making everything, including omelets. I cook the hashbrowns with the lid down until they get brown and crispy on the bottom side and then using a plastic spatula, I flip them and let them cook their other side until they are brown and crispy on both sides. It takes about 4 to 5 minutes total. For over easy eggs, I just crack 3 large eggs, one at a time, into the oiled flat plate and then close the lid. In about 2 minutes, I check on them, and usually they are ready to eat at that point. I don't even have to flip them. The lid cooks them from the other side. Then I have nice runny egg yolks to eat along with my crispy hashbrowns. If you wanted them cooked until the yolk is firm, then just cook them a little bit longer and keep checking on them until they get to where you want them to be. And if I want sausages, I just throw them in there and close the lid and keep checking back on them, and usually in about 4 minutes, they are done, too.
So, to sum it all up for you, it is easy to use this thing to make a yummy breakfast without spending a huge amount of time or effort, and because you are not using the stovetop, it won't heat up your kitchen very much.
