I own both the OSOFRESH and FRESHERLONGER containers.
They look like conventional polypro containers and cost considerably more.
They are a great investment. Let me tell you why:
They absolutely extend the shelf life of whatever you put in them. Case in point:
Made a gonzo raw salad of: baby lettuces, freshly-shelled sweet corn, roasted red peppers, grilled shitake mushrooms, teriayki tofu, shredded carrots and red cabbages.
ONE WEEK LATER: THEY TASTED AS GOOD AS DAY ONE. I kid you not.
Fresh strawberries: the same scenario. Steel-cut oatmeal porridge. Same result.
Summation: these containers, save me on average, about 10-12 hours per month in the kitchen and about $50 per month in waste. Do the math over one year and there you have it. Not a purchase, but an investment that will continue to provide benefits long after the purchase.
There was also a tall container for storing liquids (juice, milk). Equally effacacious.
Lastly, the number on the bottom of the container, I believe a "5", is polypropolene, which is reputed not to leech into the foods as much as a "6" (polystyrene).
