Customer Review: Arrived broken - twice

When I opened my Keurig 5060 Spinning Carousel I was disappointed to find four of the rings meant to hold the K-Cups were broken off and lying in the bottom of the box. I contacted Amazon and they immediately sent a replacement that also arrived broken - one ring was broken off. It is obvious that the spot welds that hold the rings in place are too weak to survive the shipping process so if you like this product you should look for it locally and check for breakage before purchasing it. If you prefer to buy from Amazon I recommend you choose the Keurig 5071 Tower Carousel since may arrive undamaged since it is a different design.
One thing I noticed when opening both shipping cartons was that whoever packed both orders placed the Carousel into the shipping carton on it's side rather than upright. Thus, each time the carton was dropped during the shipping process, all of the trauma was absorbed by the rings rather than the base, thus breaking off the rings. Had the Carousel been placed upright in the shipping carton the trauma probably would have been absorbed by the base, leaving the rings undamaged. However, since the customer has no way of determining how the item is packed, there is no way to ensure that the Spinning Carousel will arrive undamaged.
As for the Carousel itself - I liked the design and it looked very nice. It turned easily and I would have liked it had it been intact. I decided to buy a carousel locally and bought the Tower Carousel instead - the only choice available locally. It is lighter weight and doesn't spin as well (although it rotates well enough) but I like the fact that it holds three more K-Cups and they are all displayed in rows so it is easier to make a selection without the need to rotate the carousel to make a choice.

After reading some of the recent reviews, I was a bit concerned but ordered anyway as I liked the look of the carousel. I was pleasantly surprised. Of course as Amazon does, my boxed carousel came in a HUGE Amazon box with only a few 'air bags' to cushion it as it rolled around in the huge shipping box which looked a little worse for wear when it arrived. When I opened the carousel box, I carefully examined all the rings, which were in tact -yay, and tested the 'spinning' ability, which was fine. My carousel spins freely with out wobbling. I have had on my counter for a little over 1 week and it has made it through a weekend birthday party with lots of spinning and so far, no problems. Everyone complimented the carousel more than the Keurig itself. I am completely satisfied with the carousel. I would recommend to a friend.
Update: Almost 1 year & several hundred spins later ... the carousel is EXACTLY as it was when I took it out of the box ~ perfect! I still love it, it still sits on my counter and everyone still spins it! I highly recommend it!

I read several reviews that noted that the quality of this product was not up to expectations. I really don't understand why (maybe there are some that have defects) but I purchased mine in a retail store so I could see what I was getting and it is PERFECT for me.
I knew my husband would not want to go through the drawer to look for a K-Cup and I bought this so the coffee would be convenient, although I don't need to put anything else on my countertop. But it takes up very little room, so that is not a problem.
I find it to be solidly built and it spins just fine. And it even looks cute on the counter!
I would recommend this to anyone who might need it. I love it!
Update: 3/26/10 - I have this about one year now and it is still in perfect condition, just like new. I think anyone that had problems with the rings coming off must have gotten a defective item or it was dropped. We use this on a daily basis and it still spins perfectly. Very, very pleased!

I did find this at a local box store for much less than the current listed price, which I found suprising. But, more importantly, I find the construction excellent and the size perfect. I do have the Keurig 5060 Carousel as listed here, but haven't run into any of the problems (broken rings or hard to turn). I find the unit extremely stable and smooth turning.
One thing I will note that may have something to do with the problems people are having: this may be an older model. I only say that because, while looking in the big box store, the shelf had all kinds of these on the shelf, except one of them was a little bigger than all the rest. I looked on the box and the odd ball was a half inch bigger all around, but held the same number of cups. I opted for the smaller of the two. Maybe they changed their design to be more durable and that last bigger carousel was the last in stock at this store. I will tell you the one I have says it is 9.5" high x 7.5" diameter. Hope this helps!
Customer Review: A Must-Have Accessory for your Keurig Machine!

I only wish that these came in a higher capacity! It's wonderful to be able to display a large assortment of K-Cup varieties for parties or in the office, and I can't imagine having at Keurig machine and NOT having this carousel.
I usually fill the top two levels with regular coffees of different varieties, putting 2 Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filters in the top section in case someone wants to make coffee with their own choice of ground coffee. I then line the bottom level with assorted decaf K-Cups for those who don't want caffeine, and it's really amazing what complexity of variety you can fit in this device!
It spins like a carousel should, and the build is very solid -- quite a practical and stylish addition to any Keurig setup!
