I bought both the pepper and the salt grinder because I liked the design -- no flakes on the table/counter and a cap to keep the salt and pepper fresh. The pepper grinder didn't work at all so I returned it for a replacement. Meanwhile, the salt shaker was functioning properly. The second pepper grinder stopped working after a few weeks, then the salt grinder stopped working. Didn't bother exchanging them, instead bought a different set entirely.
