Customer Review: Love, love, love the Kalorik Grinders!

These grinders made by Kalorik are the most well-designed non-commercial grinders in their price range. There are a couple of better grinders but they are priced at $69 and up - just for one. I have tried and discarded many grinders and admit that poorly designed kitchen tools easily frustrate me. Not these!
What makes these so great?
1. Easy to fill.
2. Easy to operate - very important when you do not have a lot of strength in your hands.
3. Widely adjustable grind for every taste - from ultra-fine to very course.
4. The light makes it easy to see just how much you are dispensing or to check the grind setting.
5. They look nice enough to leave out on the counter or could even go on the table.
6. The batteries last for a surprisingly long time. (3+ months of daily use)
7. The see-through salt/pepper/spice compartment is both practical and attractive.
8. The bottom cap keeps spices from settling on your counter, cupboard or table.
Sometimes I grind right into that cap so as not to subject the grinder (or my hand) to steam by grinding over a steaming pot.
I bought one pair to try them out and was so impressed with their design and functionality that I now own more than a few pair (embarassed to say just how many) for the variety of salt, pepper, and spices that I like freshly ground for cooking, baking, or finishing. They can handle most any spice, except for things like whole nutmeg. I much prefer these to the coffee grinder I used to use to grind spices, and it is much more convenient to have a dedicated grinder for each spice so you always have fresh ground without any hassle or cross-contamination of flavors.
Don't know what happened with the 1 star reviewer. I have NEVER had a problem with any of my many Kakorik grinders in several months of fairly heavy use with a wide variety of spices, salts & Peppers.
Bottom line is that they are exceptional grinders for their price range, but they can be used for much more - and make a great gift too. I didn't buy mine here but Amazon's price is competitive, so when I need more I'll know where to go.
