Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kaiser KaiserFlex Silicone Scraping SpoonCustomer Review: 5-Star item!! I thought I hate the stainless steel handle, but NOT AT ALL!! Summary: 4 Stars
<Updated on 10/07/2007> I got several very nice Trudeau spatulas, but I end up using this one all the time!! I found it's very easy to use and easy to clean! Surprisingly, I LOVE it!! HA~HA~~ Now I wish I can give it a 5-star!! The system won't allow me to change the rating!
<The initial review> I have to admit that this is a Good spoon as the silicone is firm and the spoon is very easy to work with. But, with metal handle, I can only use it to scrape the batter off the mixing bowls. The metal handle gets hot if you stir the hot pot for a while. Definitely, I can't leave it on the cooking pot for even a little while, or it will get really hot! This thing is about 11-1/4 long, easy to clean. However, compare to this one, I still love my yellow Trudeau Silicone Spatula more!
Customer Review: I bought so many of these when on sale Summary: 5 Stars
...And I use these _every_ day. Seriously. How can something so minor make my life so much easier? I use these on my Calphalon cookware and love them. I sued to only use wooden utensils while cooking, but now, these spatulas are it for me. They've held up over the past year I've had them, and I cook at least once a day if at home.
Great for eggs, stir fry, or anything else you need to sautee or fry in a pan without scratching it, melting it, or it sticking to food.
Be carful: the metal handle can get hot if you leave [the metal part] touching a hot pan for too long.
Super easy to clean by hand and dishwasher.
Customer Review: Great for 3 years! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this scraping spoon back in 2007. After 3 years of near-daily use, the silicone is cracking and it taints the taste of the food, so I have to replace it. I've used this spoon for all sorts of things: stirring batter/dough, mixing ground meat, scrambling eggs (the shape allowed me to get all the eggs, even the stuff that likes to hide in the rounded edges), scraping the bowls, etc. If there's a task to be done by spatula or spoon, this thing has done it. Excellent quality, just watch where the metal handles lie in relation to the heat source.
Customer Review: On sale, a great bargain Summary: 5 Stars
Twice over the past two months Amazon has run this item on sale for 99 cents plus the super saver and 4 for 3 options besides. Yes, really they have. I bought two of them to get to the $25 threshold for free shipping, and I am not disappointed. I don't know whether they are worth the current price of $7.95 each, but they really are a good bargain at 99 cents, if you have a need for scrapers. They are supposed to hold up to 500 degrees for stirring, but remember that these have metal handles, which will get hot.
Customer Review: Good Spatula, Horrible Handle Summary: 2 Stars
Durable blue silicone really does the job of scraping every last bit out of your mixing bowls. Unfortunately, it feels like you're holding a wire coat hanger. The handle is beautiful in its design, but uncomfortable-at-best in it's execution.
If you usually whisk your creations with loose wiring, the handle shouldn't be a bother! But if you prefer something you can actually hold onto, you should look elsewhere.
