Customer Review: Okay for a spoon

There's just no way that anyone should pay the suggested $10 for this item. I got it free when I purchased another Kaiser bakeware item. At that price, it's about worth it. The packaging threw me off because it lists the heat tolerance in Centigrade, i.e., 260 degrees, versus Fahrenheit, which is what I'm more used to. That does translate to 500 degrees F. December 9 update: Okay, this spoon is just perfect for doing scrambled eggs. Based on what others have written about it retaining stains and possibly odors if put in the dishwasher, I've decided to just use it for eggs. The Kaiserflex Silicone Blending Spoon is handy. It is stiff (lined with metal) but coated with silicone which means it can withstand some higher temperatures. The hole in it allows for good smooth stirring. It was free with the purchase of my Kaiser spring form pan so that is an added bonus. I put it in the dishwasher and I will hand wash it from now on. It absorbed odors while in the dishwasher. It is not ruined but I won't just put it in the dishwasher again. Onion flavored cheesecake is relatively unpopular so I will be more careful.Customer Review: Excellent Silicone Utensil

This 12" spoon is excellent for stir-blending soups, sauces, etc., and works very well as a "spatula" for scrambled eggs and stir fry. This is light-weight, but quality silicone that holds up well to high-heat cooking and is dishwasher-safe in the upper basket. Its length works well in tall soup pots. Its slim handle can be easily accommodated in the crock/jar on the counter with your other kitchen utensils. This is well worth the money.Customer Review: unexpectedly useful

i got this spoon for free during a promotion and initially i thought it was ridiculous to have a spoon with a hole in the center... but later on it became my favorite spoon to use while cooking. unfortunately after about a year or so, the silicone on the spoon part tore away from the metal a little. i previously thought i only loved it because i did not have to pay for it, but now i miss having it and i will probably purchase another.Customer Review: Good for stirring, but gets hot

The spoon is good for stirring as described. I got it free with a purchase. The regular price off $12 is a bit high since it can't multi-task. The spoon has a hole for stiring, as a result it can not be used to scoop. Found it's good for making bbq sauce or pasta sauce. Only negative is the fact the handle can get hot if left in the pot or near hot steam. The handle is a metal shaft covered with silicon, so it conducts heat.
