Description of KX MATRIKX® VOCTM (02 - series), 5" Standard Block Carbon Filter, 2 MicronKX Industries MATRIKX® VOCTM (02 - series) Extruded Activated Carbon Block Filter: "The Chlorine Taste and Odor Guzzler"
KX MATRIKX +5 filter is made from coconut shell carbon, which creates what many believe to be a sweeter tasting water. Because of the unique pore structure of this carbon, it is well-suited for chemical adsorption, including VOCs, and chlorine taste and odor. KX MATRIKX® VOCTM filters provide 2 Micron nominal particulate filtration and extended life as a fine sediment filter.
The service life of a KX MATRIKX® VOCTM filter is greatly extended by an outer layer of prefiltration medium and will operate effectively in most installations without prefiltration. The KX MATRIKX® VOCTM is ideal for home and food service applications where improving the taste of water is the primary objective.
This filter can also be used as prefiltration to a Reverse Osmosis System.
Adavantages of Carbon Block vs. GAC Carbon
MATRIKX® VOCTM filters consist of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced adsorptive capacity and efficiency. MATRIKX and flow in a radial (outside-to-inside) direction, providing increased dirt-holding capacity and low pressure drop. Unlike granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, MATRIKX® VOCTM cartridges will not channel or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of their extruded activated carbon core. Service life of the MATRIKX® VOCTM filter is greatly extended by a prefiltration medium.
