My husband put our orginal beater in the dishwasher and the finish was ruined. In my manual , it does state that it is dishwasher safe but they are wrong.
When I called Kitchenaid , I was told it was not dishwasher safe. Don't think it should be stated in the book that it is ok if it is not but I decided to check out the COATED replacment. The service wsa great from Amazon and the best price as well. So far, have only used it once but it cleans in a jiffy and if I want, which I don't, I can put this one in the dishwasher.
