I bought this little kit for the bamboo mat. I couldn't locate it in my local stores so I purchased this as a larger group of items with free shipping. The spoon that comes with it is cheap wood; as for the price you would expect that. It takes on colors and stains. The bamboo mat is of good quality with no problems. I wrap mine in saran wrap when using to make life much easier. The pamphlet is a neat additive, but a book is recommended to be used then this pamphlet to get started.Customer Review: Good Mat. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my Sushi Kit. The mat is of good quality. The spoon will work well for making sushi rice and it even comes with a little pamphlet with some basic instructions for making sushi. The pamphlet although small had some great tips and pointers that my other sushi books have failed to mentioned. For the price this is a great deal!Customer Review: I got what I expected

While the spoon does feel very light, and I think it is just a mater of time before I break it, I expected as much based on price and other reviews. The mat works great, and the instruction book is helpful. With these things I was able to successfully make my sushi so I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this if you need a sushi mat.Customer Review: Best product...

Man, how many sushi rolls have I made since I bought this kit? TOO MANY TO COUNT! & If I could post the pictures of the end product, you'd agree with me that, this indeed is a SUPER BUY!
The bamboo mat makes rolling the nori encumbered with rice & fillings, easy!
That right there, pays for the kit in & of itself...

I bought this last year for my husband and it is great. We use it quite often. The only problem we've had recently is we can't get the mat clean, but I figure after a year of use it's time to get another one anyhow. The book is simple but it has a sushi rice recipe which is the most important part. I really like it!
