Customer Review: Three Sets Makes Twelve Placesettings!

Antique Blue Willow porcelain has been collected in my family for many generations. A similar pattern to Blue Willow, the Johnson Brothers Willow Blue Dinnerware 20-Piece Set, Service for Four, includes four 5-Piece Placesettings (10 1/2-inch dinner plates; 6-inch salad/dessert plates; 6-inch soup/cereal bowls; and 8-ounce cups, with saucers). The beautiful blue and white design keeps the spirit and romance alive in the love story that is told on every piece of this open stock pattern. ("Open stock" means new items are added while some items are discontinued, thus creating an exciting experience for the collector. "Open stock" also means that if you break a plate, you can replace it, without having to buy another whole place setting or set.)However, be sure to check the diameters of the dinner and salad plates, if you do need to get any replacements. Often, it is more practical and less costly to purchase another placesetting than an individual plate!
Because Willow Blue is a pattern of porcelain china, it can be used for entertaining at formal meals. As well, Willow Blue is microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher-safe, although you will want to hand-wash any of the 3-D pieces. Willow Blue can be used for everyday meals, too, so it is a pretty and practical choice for the engaged couple or anyone else who is setting up a household.
With each service for four, I recommend that you buy a a matching platter and vegetable bowl.
