I bought the Sunbeam version of this humidifier.
First thing I noticed, is that it actually works. I have a small bedroom (around 10' x 15' big). I closed the door with it running on high, and when I came back about an hour later, I definitely noticed it was humid in my bedroom. I will probably buy a little humidity dial to keep track of how humid it is.
With it running on high, it runs through a full tank (.9 gallons) in about 8 hours or less (I noticed it was empty and the shut-off light was on when I woke up).
It gurgles and makes noise. I muted this out with a fan at first, and then I came here and found out you can stop the noise by adding a teaspoon of baking soda. That actually works, fortunately.
Bottom line is, I paid less than $30 for the Sunbeam version of this (same company, exact same product; also, see Holmes version), and I think it's a great value for the money.
No filters, boiling water naturally kills bacteria. Warmer air. As a dry Coloradan in the winter, I love it.
