Customer Review: Flawed Design

This heater is extremely lightweight and top heavy. It easily tips over. I do not recommend this unit for people with pets, toddlers or the elderly. A unit that is longer and shorter is much more stable.
The recessed handle at the top rear is inadequate. It isn't deep enough for my fingers to gain a solid grasp. A bar across the top front appears to have no purpose other than to serve as an addition carrying handle. Do not grab it to move or reposition the heater. It will burn your fingers. In my opinion this is a serious design flaw. I don't understand the reason for that bar if it can't be used to move a hot heater. (You can see the bar in the photo.)
Seeing as how you're not supposed to plug this heater into an extension cord, they should have made the power cord a couple feet longer. A unit this size needs one, especially since it tips over easily and needs careful placement in a room.
It throws off a good deal of heat, but so does my $28 forced-fan heater that has a safer carrying handle and a stable base. It's supposed to turn on and off by itself according to the room temperature, but it doesn't. I don't think this heater is any better than cheaper models. It is certainly noisier.
