This little opener makes a great inexpensive gift that is needed and will be appreciated for a long time to come. I ordered one for myself, one for a sickly neighbor and another for my friend's birthday. I'm making these my new "signature" gift for all occasions.
It handily opens what used to be difficult-to-open "pop-up" jar lids on stuff like jelly and sauces so effortlessly that you wonder how you ever got along without it. No longer do you have to watch the strong man of the house strain to twist open a jar lid as his muscles bulge and neck veins pop out. It takes a minute or two to get the hang of opening various lids while sliding the opener under because the lip of the opener "seems" to be too fat to slip under the lid like normal metal ones. But once you get the hang of it, the opening action is so smooth that you don't even realize the jar is open already. Love the red color. Glad I ordered it instead of my favorite color blue. It's a bright, cheery red -- so easy to spot in a drawer.
