Here are the pros and cons of PowerJuicer. The pros are first, it has a good efficiency, a low pulp to juice ratio, which means it does a good job in squeezing as much as juice possible. Second, it is fast. It takes seconds to fill up the 1000ml measuring cup. Third, it is easy to assemble and disassemble. The only cons I have are first, it doesn't work with some fruits and vegetables, e.g., coconut and banana. They provide the list of fruits and vegetables that are not recommended for Power Juicer. Second, it takes a while to wash and clean since you have to wash everything except the base; the lid, the blade, the filter, the pulp collector, and the receptacle, and this is a big mess to clean. I have seen a similar comment, but all it takes is a due diligence. It takes much longer to clean than to fill up the measuring cup. Third, even after installing the pulp-guard, often the pulps still spill over on the table. At least another juicer I know does not spit the pulps immediately out of the juicer when juicing, but places them inside the juicer for disposal later. Overall, I am happy with Power Juicer. If you order direct, they also give you some recipe books that have some exotic smoothies and muffins in them.Customer Review: Good juicer but poor customer service

Very good juicer, does everything it says on TV. Quiet, powerful, juices fruits and vegetables quickly and easily with a high yield of juice. The metal handle that clamps the top in place has to be positioned exactly a certain way, or the juicer will not run, and it often requires two or more tries to get it just right. But it looks like there is a new stainless steel model where the handle goes on more easily. My only problem is that after a few months I ordered an extra filter basket (which comes in a kit). This was ordered directly from the manufacturer. They told me it would come in 4-6 weeks, which it didn't. I kept calling and they told me it would be shipped within a few days. I finally got it four months later and it didn't fit right. Then they overcharged my credit card. It took more phone calls to take care of it. They should have handled it quickly and efficiently, but most of the people I spoke to were either discourteous or incompetent or both. Eventually I got somebody who was able to fix everything, but it took about six months from the time I ordered the parts. This is a fine product, but the customer support leaves much to be desired.Customer Review: Plastic build and difficult to clean.

I did not purchase this item from Amazon (otherwise, I would know what I'm buying). Instead, I purchased it from Power Juicer (Wallingford, CT) directly after watched their TV ad, which I found was misleading since they are showing a nice looking model (with two shining metal rings around the container) on TV, but actually sell the same item as shown at Amazon. Also, after read the manual, I realized that, every time after use, I would have to disassemble & reassemble the juicer using a special tool (impossible to clean if lost the tool). So I decided to return it back. Then, I found their (Power Juicer) customer service was horrible - they did not return your calls when they knew you want to return, and they even do not pick up the phone if you call them the second time. I have to ask my credit card company to disbuse the payment after paying all the shipping & handling cost to send it back..
If you really want to try it, check the return policy from the seller. I paid about 50% of product price for just return it - a lesson learned from such a bad seller (Power Juicer). They are selling something without self-confidence & honesty.

I've been using this juicer for about a year. I found a returned model at Bed and Bath for 33.00, which included the original warranty. Good thing, too, as the motor gave it up after 6 months. Bed and Bath replaced it with a new one, which has been working well these past 6 months. Lesson learned: don't cram those carrots into the chute - feed them gently.
I agree with an earlier posting that this is a good entry level juicer. It's in no worse to clean than other juicers provided you clean up IMMEDIATELY after juicing. I tighten the grater by hand to prevent over tightening. It makes superb carrot juice. As to the debate over twin screw versus the LaLanne style of juicing, it comes down to whatever best fits your lifestyle. I do recommend looking for a refurbished or deeply discounted unit as you can save a significant amount of money, and try to purchase from a vendor that will provide an easy exchange. I suspect that a number of problems that people have with this unit is due to their own inexperience with juicers as it strikes me as well made overall. But, by all means, try juicing. The benefits are amazing.

I purchased this after seeing the infomercial and realized that I just don't eat enough fruits and virtually no vegetables. I wasn't planning to use it to lose weight but I have since I started 'juicing'. I really love the natural juice and while buying all the fruits and vegetables can become a bit pricey, I think it's worth it. I put three large carrots, 3 sticks of celery (including the greens at the end), one large tomato and a few sprigs of parsely down the chute and after it's in the glass I add a few drops of tobasco sauce, it tastes much better than V8. I love this machine because I have been feeling very energized lately and since I have lost some weight it is motivation for me to continue juicing. The only slight drawback is that you have to take it apart to clean every time you use it and pretty quickly after that to avoid particles getting stuck but as much as I love the juice this machine produces, it's a small price to pay. My best friend just purchased a juicer too after I gave her a glass of pure carrot juice. This machine is staying on my counter for the duration.
