Customer Review: Good, but.....

This is nice for presentation...but save yourself the money and simply request a free slate sample from a local or online slate/tile store. Seriously, I just requested free 16x16 slate samples from an online store called BuildDirect (up to 5 samples ship free).
Update: I received my free samples today (7/30) and they aren't the actual tile size that was listed online (16 x 16) - they are smaller. So while I still think that you can save your money by just using slate flooring pieces, you might want to go to a physical store and request a sample (rather than doing so online like I did). You would be able to see the size you're getting. If nothing else, a physical store would most likely allow you to purchase just a few pieces - which would still be cheaper. Personally, I'm going to look for some additional online samples. But I wanted to let anyone reading this review know that the free samples I received were smaller than expected.
