I love this product. It's very quick and easy to chop leafy herbs. The board is easy to clean by simply rinsing with water immediately after using.
Description of J.K. Adams HB-1010 Maple Herb Bowl with Mezzaluna Chopper
The J.K. Adams hand-turned herb bowl and matching mezzaluna chopper is a beautiful and efficient set for preparing fresh herbs. Carved out of a 10 square of maple, the shallow contour of the bowl is matched to the radius of the chopper to allow easy dicing and chopping with a simple roll of the wrist. The J.K. Adams design is unique with a plate garage sculpted into the sides so your herbs transfer from bowl to dish without spills. Non-skid pads keep the bowl firmly in place.This aesthetically pleasing herb-chopping bowl is perfectly designed for its function. The slightly scooped bowl holds a handful of fresh herbs while you gently rock the curved mezzaluna ("half-moon") blade to chop them to the desired fineness. The matching curves of bowl and knife work perfectly to turn what can be a tedious task into a pleasing one. The modest size of the bowl (9-1/2 inches square) means that it's easy to pick up to add the herbs to your cooking. Don't be tempted to wash the bowl or blade in the dishwasher: the natural wood and oil finish require careful cleaning by hand with a mild soap. (Other extremes of moisture and temperature should also be avoided.) The bowl can be easily stored on its side, but it's so handsome, you may want to keep it out. --Sherry Smith
