Henckels uses a high-tech welding process to form the knives in its first-rate cutlery lines. This process combines three types of high-carbon stainless steel into a single piece so that each part of a knife--blade, bolster, and tang--performs optimally. This 8-inch serrated bread knife easily slices a crusty loaf. Shaped like a gentle wave to fit the hand snugly, the ergonomically designed handle contains a full rat-tail tang and is fully watertight with no gaps.
