Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of J.A. Henckels Twin Gourmet 7-Inch Santoku KnifeCustomer Review: My Very First Henckel's Summary: 4 Stars
I do have a set of steak knives with Henckels name on it but they are not made in Germany. They have a serrated edge and have only one man on the handle. Very nice knives but I see them as imposters.
This knife is advertised as santoku knife but it has no depressions on the side to aid in the release of the chopped items. This causes no probelm for me. The label on the package calls it a gourmet knife. I dunno. It's a chef's knife to me.
This is another great purchase from Amazon! A heavy blade, and sharp and very balanced. Beauitful to look at and a joy to use. This knife has quickly earned it's place as a favored tool in my kitchen. With proper care this knife will last a lifetime. My very first Henckels and under twenty bucks! Thanks Amazon. Your low prices enabled me to explore kitchen tools I would never think to to try or buy. Joyce Chen Burnished Bamboo Utensil Set I like these too.

This popular knife has a broad blade and sharp cutting edge. All Zwilling J.A. Henckels santokus have a fine-polished razor edge that give them their Thanks to the rising popularity of sushi and other Asian delicacies, the Asian-style chef's knife, called a santoku, is now commonly found in American kitchens. This seven-inch santoku from the Henckels Twin Gourmet collection features a broad blade with a razor-sharp edge, and is designed to tackle a multitude of chopping, slicing, and dicing food preparation tasks. In contrast to a hollow-edge santoku, the blade on this one is smooth, yet it still excels at cutting paper-thin slices of fish, meat, or vegetables. The santoku makes a versatile addition to any kitchen and a superb gift for the chef who especially enjoys preparing Asian cuisine. The Henckels Twin Gourmet collection features traditional three-rivet styling, a visible full tang for strength and balance, and a single-piece blade that is stamped, rather than forged, which helps keeps the line reasonably priced. The blade, made from high-carbon, no-stain steel and strengthened in Henckels' exclusive Friodur ice-hardening process, retains its sharp edge through extensive cutting and chopping. Made in Germany and covered by a lifetime warranty, Twin Gourmet knives are dishwasher-safe but are best cared for when washed and dried by hand. --Ann Bieri
