I ordered this knife when I had a gift certificate and wasn't looking for a book, but needed a bread knife. Now I purchase it as a gift! It cuts like a dream through bread, tomatoes, sandwiches, without grabbing or tearing! A must-have for any kitchen, even if you don't cook!Customer Review: You get what you pay for

Although it cut great at first, within a couple of months it wasn't cutting much better than the cheap, generic bread knife it had replaced. At $10 or less, it's a decent knife but don't expect it to hold its edge for long. Henckels or not, it's still a low-grade knife.Customer Review: The best knife in the block

This is the best knife I have for bread, rolls and tomatoes. I get uniform slices with almost no pressure. It has a good feel in the hand, mine is a large hand, and cleans easily. I have 2 and have given several as gifts, much to the joy of my friends.Customer Review: Good bread knife

I bought this Henckels bread knife in 2002 and it's still my favorite bread knife. I have no trouble slicing through bread with it. It feels solid in the hand and it's as lovely now as it was back when it was new.Customer Review: Love this knife!!

Have had this knife for almost 2 years and use it for everything. Nice balance in my hand. Has even tolerated my kids using it for non-food (read--if mom caught us doing this, she would hurt us!) applications.
