Received this item for Christmas present. At first I was concerned by the very light-weight handles, but after using the knives many times, I am convinced they are very good quality. They are very sharp and clean well in the dishwasher. I was so happy to throw out my old set and replace them with this one. Don't let the brand name fool you. This is a really cheap set of knives and I am shocked that Henckels would even put their name on it. The blades are thin and the handles are poor as well. Seems like the kind of knives you'd buy in a pinch at the supermarket. It may seem like a great deal, but it really isn't when you have to trash it and buy a better set.

I bought this Henckels knife set initially for the name and the cost. I only knew that Henckels was a good brand and that was it. This knife set is great. I have been using it for 5 months now and it always cuts great. It isn't as sharp as the top of the line Henckels sets but, this is also well-made. This is overall a nice set of knives, good weight and they don't bend too much. The price is the selling point here, Henckels International means "made in China or Taiwan" not Germany but overall it is a nice set. If you are the person who wants the German name this is not for you but if you want a knife that is sharp and ready to use every day, give them a try.Customer Review: Great knives for the money

I had an old set of these knives, and over the years, they disappeared one by one. I looked at all the local stores to find a replacement set, to no avail. Luckily I thought to look in Amazon, and sure enough, there they were. I probably should have ordered 2 sets, but I'm going to guard these. I think they are the best knives for the money anywhere.
