We got this for our cat and the bottomline is it works. There are 5 levels of correction you can set it on. Setting one is only the warning and setting two and up are warning then correction. We set it on setting 2 first and when that didn't seem to work we turned it up to 3. The collar beeps for a few seconds before the correction. It took our cat about 4 corrections before it learned to stay away. After the 4th time, it knew to run away as soon as the collar started beeping. Now the cat does not even go near the area and keeps well away. Success!
