Before ordering the product listed as "ILSA 7-Inch Cast Iron Heat Defuser" (which should be spelled `Diffuser') I read the 'Product Details' that Ilsa claimed, including:
"Product Dimensions: 7.2 x 7.2 x 3 inches ; 1.1 pounds"
After measuring my stove burner to ascertain how much of it would be covered by the Ilsa heat diffuser, I ordered the product.
When it arrived, the diffuser looked smaller than I'd anticipated, so I measured it. Because its petal-like shape is undulating, I measured it at both extremes.
At its widest, the Ilsa cast iron heat diffuser measures 6.8125 (6 13/16) inches.
At its narrowest, it measures 6.5625 (6 9/16) inches.
I then reported to Amazon that the Ilsa product was not as advertised. That was about two weeks ago. Today I see that the product is STILL listed as "ILSA 7-Inch Cast Iron Heat Defuser" and Ilsa's 'Product Details' STILL claim that the heat diffuser's dimensions are "7.2 x 7.2 x 3 inches."
The Ilsa heat diffuser that I received also did not look like the product's photo. The six protuberances (raised areas) in the photo look higher than the ones on the product I received.
Because Ilsa appears to have either (1) cheapened its heat diffuser while keeping that fact secret OR (2) lied about its dimensions from the start, I do not trust this company for any other of its products, and I rate the diffuser and ALL of Ilsa's products 1 star.
