This item came in a small plastic bag without any installation instructions. We had a hard time getting it to fit on place. It took a lot of force and we we weren't sure we were doing it right, without instructions. In the end, we got it in and it works fine. It is a lot cheaper to replace this valve than to replace the whole tank.

I thought I was either going to have to purchase a new tank for my Hoover Steam Vac carpet cleaner, or a whole new cleaner. Found this replacement valve and saved $$$.
The only down side is that it doesn't come with install instructions, and it took a few tries to get it installed, but I did and it works like new.

If the valve on your water or detergent tank is broken or leaking, don't buy a new tank, just replace the valve. The installation is easy enough that even if you aren't handy, you should be able to handle it.

The spring on the original valve for the detergent tank went bad. Instead of replacing the entire tank, I was able to replace just the valve. It works great!
