Customer Review: 22 oz of HOT coffee! This mug is exactly what I needed.

I have never left a product review online, but after relying so much on other reviews for purchases, it's definitely time to give back.
This mug is exactly what I needed! I ALMOST bought another type of leakproof mug by another manufacturer as it got SO MANY great reviews...but at the end of the day, that mug (and so many others) maxes out at 16oz of coffee. I don't need 16 oz of coffee to stay hot all day long: I drink 16 oz of coffee in 2 hours...which leaves me bummed with no coffee until lunch time.
THIS mug, the moJOEmo, got fewer reviews than the competition, but all of them seemed basically good, if not great. I am so glad I "chanced it." Since receiving the mug, I have only used it for one work day, but so far I am extremely pleased. It took me 4 hours to drink the full 22 ounces, and I will say it was hot 'til the last drop. If I had been drinking it more slowly, I believe the coffee still would have been hot, or at least warm...through 6 hours...maybe more (and this is with keeping the button open for drinking). I should mention that I did not "prep" the mug first, with hot water, before filling it with coffee.
I work in a fairly large building and have to attend meetings in different rooms in various parts of the building, changing floors and carrying a laptop. I wanted a mug that would not spill and feed my keyboard (like my last, cheap mug, did) during these treks to and from meetings. The moJOEmo seems to fit the bill, with the button for drinking locked, and the screw cap on top. And the handle is helpful when juggling the mug and the laptop and running around the building, opening doors and going up-and-down stairs.
This mug will not fit in a standard car cup-holder, but as we have an adapter type of thing, that fits into the cup holder and then expands to hold a larger mug, this isn't an issue for me. It does max out the adapter though. I do think you could leave this mug on the passenger seat (with the drinking button locked and screw cap on) and not worry about the mug flying off the seat and spilling. Even if it falls over, I don't think it will spill. Of course, this would make it tough to drink drink coffee while commuting.
The fact that the mug is so wide, though, really makes it almost tip-proof. As another reviewer stated, when focused on the computer and reaching for the mug, there seems little chance of accidentally knocking it over.
The pieces within the cap, for the button mechanism, are a little weird to get used to, for disassembling and cleaning, but I think after the first few tries, it will become second-nature. Disassembling and hand-washing every single day might take some work, but I tend to rinse daily, and wash on the weekends, so for me I don't think it will be an issue.
One day of use and I am extremely pleased with this mug. So far I highly recommend it!

Before I buy anything, I do my homework, review and read all I can, weigh pros and cons of different brands/product, and order the one which fits my needs the best. Usually they live up to expectations but rarely over-exceed them and delight me.
This is one of those rare products that accomplishes the latter. So much so, I am giddy about having it and am telling everyone I know about it. Yep. It's that good.
For reference, in November 2008 I purchased a Timolino 20oz @tanium II which I was happy with knowing it had two faults; the top sipper mechanism was not leak-proof and, although advertised as 20oz it really only held about 17-18oz with the lid on. I lost that Mug in December ... likely a victim of being set on the car roof or left in a meeting room. The drawbacks were more significant to me than I thought they would be so I decided to not order another. Instead, I landed on the moJOEmo mug as it seemed to address the two flaws of the Timolino 20oz @tanium II.
And it does.
It is indeed leak proof. You may get a couple of drops from the remnants withing the top, but it does not leak the coffee at ALL! It also holds the >20oz I was hoping for. And it does so while keeping it HOT HOT HOT. I use the Krups Moka Brew which makes very hot coffee. When I put it into my moJOEmo, coffee remains only "sippable" two hours later! I end up keeping the top in the "open" position just to make it drinkable in the first 15mins. Amazing! It actually keeps it hotter than my Stanley Thermos!
Lastly, the craftsmanship and thoughtfulness is simply outstanding. You will appreciate all the little "simple" things; the easy, one handed open/close top; the right-size, sturdy handle; the large rubber base combined with a bottom heavy design that keeps the mug in place w/o moving or tipping; and the screw on cover for the top perfectly designed so it "closes" the top as you put it on in case you forgot ... although I am still wondering why you would ever need to put this cover on (maybe inside a purse or gym bag so something doesn't accidentally "push" the moJOEmo button?).
If you are a coffee drinker and need something on-the-go that holds more than those 14oz drink-holder mugs, don't hesitate. This is the perfect mug. My hats off to my moJOEmo mug and Highwave!

For a number of years I used the Nissan Ultimate Desktop mug and it worked well but for some reason on occasion it would drip from the cover seal area. Try as I could I couldn't figure out why. So I bought this mug to sit on my desk. I drink 2 or 3 full mugs of tea a day using this mug. I love the wide base which cannot be easily tipped over. I love having my tea very hot even after several hours sitting with it open and ready to sip.
I also love that you can drink from any side of the rim. This is great as I switch hands that hold it.
You open the mug by pushing in the white button at top center and close it by pushing the ring around the button. Very simple. I usually leave it open as it sits on my desk and very little heat escapes unlike a more conventional mug opening.
I drink tea and over time it leaves a residue in the cover mechanism. It is difficult to describe but once you figure how to open it it can be cleaned but not so easily. A downside to the clever closing system. While I leave it open most of the time I have tested it out and when closed it does not leak when turned upside down.
Sometimes I use it for ice water. The smaller opening makes it harder to fill with ice cubes from a dispenser than other mugs but not really a big deal. Ice cubes stay whole for hours and I will refill only the water over a long afternoon or evening.
I have not used it for travel yet but the simple screw on cap seals it perfectly watertight in my tests.
This is the best large mug I have ever used.
May 17, 2010 Added Info.... Recently I needed to contact HighWave customer service about my mug. To my pleasant surprise they responded to my email very quickly in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner. So often these days you just get a form letter type reply if any at all. I was very impressed.
I am going to buy another one of these for my wife.
Customer Review: Looks Nice but Watch Your Nose

I received this travel mug for a birthday present and it looked nice upon arrival but had to stop using it after a week. Notice in the product photo how small the diameter of the rim of the lid for drinking is? When you put the rim to your mouth and tilt the mug for a sip, the opposite side of the rim bumps your nose (rather than clearing it like typical larger diameter lids do). This is made worse because the base of the mug is much wider than the opening at the top so you have to tilt the mug more than a straight-walled mug to get the last half of the contents, increasing the tendency to bump the rim against your nose.
This seems like it would be of no consequence but after several days the area just under the tip of my nose was so irritated I had to apply some cortisone cream for a couple of days. My wife tried to return the mug but was refused because it had been used. Now all I can use it for is to transport coffee, not to drink from. I have gone back to my Nissan Thermos travel tumbler and all is well.
I wanted to make others aware of this potential problem because it is not something you could predict from just looking at a photo and there is no return option once you try it and don't like. If this had been purchased directly from Amazon rather than from one of their 3rd party vendors, they probably would have honored a return (Target accepts returns up to 3 months after purchase, no questions asked--why can't this vendor give at least a couple of weeks for return?). Since this purchase I have encountered one other review mentioning this problem on another online shopping site.

Highwave moJOEmo Stainless Travel Mug
The JOEmo mugs are FABULOUS! This is my second one. The first one was a gift from my place of employment, one of the original 14 oz. mugs. I couldn't wait for Highwave to come out with a larger size. These mugs keep the coffee hotter than any travel mug I have ever tried, and I have tried many. My recent purchase through Amazon was the 22 oz. moJOEmo mug, which I LOVE! It is like taking a half of a percolator full of coffee to work with me. And, it is just as steaming hot when I take the lid off and push in the button as it was when I poured it. Their claims are true. I have had my coffee stay hot enough to drink after being open for very close to 8 hours.
My only complaint with either of these mugs is that the mouth needs to be wider. The inside of the 14 oz. mug was difficult to clean. The 22 oz. mug is a bit easier to clean because of the width of the body of the mug.
The 14 oz. mug comes with a nifty little travel bag that has a handle for easy transport. I wish the 22 oz. mug had one as well, but it doesn't come with one.
If you are a serious coffee drinker who likes coffee that stays hot, try the JOEmo mugs. All my co-workers agree, they are well worth the money that you will spend on one.
