Wonderful knife block. Holds any of my knives, including a cleaver in the top slot. For this price ($30), it simply can't be beat. The only thing I have to complain about is that I need another one because my collection has grown beyond this blocks capacity. I can't believe how much space all my knives took up. This knife storage block is very handy on the end of my counter. Holds big and small knives and I finally got my set of steak knives out of the boxes. Having a pair of scissors at my fingertips is also a time and space saver. Our old block had vertical slots, which will dull the knives if they are not carefully placed, and which become ragged at the bottom with use. The Henckels block has horizontal slots, and a large number of them in various sizes. It is well-made and finely sanded. At the price, it is a bargain.
