I love this knife storage block. There are so many slots of varying sizes and I am now able to store all of my odd shaped knives. The angle keeps the block a bit farther away from the wall than an upright one, but doesn't really take up too much extra space. The wood is beautiful and you can't beat the price. I have a very long knife that I keep in the top slot which gives it more room in length. The lower slots can be used for steak knives or odd short utility knives. Nicely made knife block. More than enough slots for my needs. Reasonable price. Initially, Amazon sent me the wrong item (19 slot block), they corrected it right away. Here's info about this 20 slot block, emailed to me by JAHenckels. The cleaver slot is 3½". Four slots are 2". Two slots are 1½". One slot is 1¼". Two slots are 1". The eight steak knife slots are ¾". The other two slots are reserved for a sharpening steel and for kitchen shears.Customer Review: Knife block is a big help.

Since I have become the primary cook in the house, I've needed a decent storage place for my good knives. This fits the bill. It holds virtually all my long knives and some of the shorter ones, as well. Now every time I need a knife, it' handy and convenient. I love it.
The only drawback is that my steak knives are too big for their slots in the block, but I am planning on getting some different ones very soon that will fit.

I like this block, but it really only has two slots wide enough for Santoku or chef's knives. The other slots are narrower and made more for slicing/carving/bread knives. I have a couple of older and cheaper Chicago Cutlery chef's knives that I store together in the cleaver slot, but they overlap by about 1/4 inch. It is a deep block, meaning it will hold a 9" blade easily. Overall, for the price...it's a great knife block.Customer Review: Good Value

I bought this to keep my Henckels knives seperate from my other knives. Don't want hubby accidentally throwing them in the dishwasher...
Nice knife block. Lots of wide width blade slots, this is good since I have 2 Santoku knives. It's nice and deep so I can keep my bread knife in it too. I use the steak knife slots for paring and small blade utility knives.
Good product, good price.
