My wife wanted a bamboo steamer to use in trying out some new Asian recipes - but we didn't have a wok. This adapter ring allows the use of a stock pot or large sauce pan rather than a wok. For those that have a wok too, this method frees up the wok for other uses and eliminates the need for boiling water in the wok and possibly damaging its built-up 'seasoning'. A stock pot will hold more water than a wok so you'll have to refill less often too. I'm just surprised that this essential isn't included with all bamboo steamers.....Customer Review: It woks
