Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Healthy Juicer - Manual Hand Powered Wheatgrass Juicer - Wheat grass juicer

Customer Review: I like it
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this juicer for about a month. I use it about every other day. I like it because I use it for what it is. a wheat grass juicer. It does an excellent job (for wheatgrass the pulp is dry) it is fast and it is easy to clean and set up and take down. if you are a hippocrates health institue fan I like it because I am able to juice cucumbers, celery and cabbage too.If the pulp is a bit wet I just run it through again. The cucumbers juice better if you leave the skin on. After I am through with it I disassemble the parts, spray them off with hot water and put the parts on top of a paper towel in a plastic bowl on the counter so it is ready to use next time. I like manual things that don't make a lot of noise, and gusess what. You know those expensive juicers that you feed a bannana through so it tastes like ice cream? I just tried it and it does it too!! I don't know why it would break anywhere but I ordered another one last week in case it ever did

Customer Review: For Farm Use Only
Summary: 1 Stars

So lucky me. My Health Juicer by Lexan arrived just as my first flat of wheat grass was a rich, vibrant 6" tall. I marveled at how easily the plastic all fitted together and proceeded to grind out 3 Oz. of juice from my huge flat. My wife and I need at least 10 oz. a day. Humm.... I tried again today, tilting the picnic table so as to make sure all juice would spill into the tray. Today I squeezed out 2 oz. Humm.... I went to the net to see about buying extra flats, and the manafacturer said expect 16 or so ounces per flat. I called a man who raided wheat grass for a year, and he said, "Dude, you got a bum juicer." Moreover, this morning, trying to take it apart, I couldn't get the top to detach from the bottom. I'm considering a #8 ball pean hammer my farmer father willed to me. He farmed 160 back in Iowa. About the right size if converted to wheat grass to be milked by my shiny new Health Juicer by Lezen.

Customer Review: Nothing fancy, but a great little juicer for your daily wheatgrass
Summary: 5 Stars

I own a Greenstar juicer for the big stuff, and I use it a lot. But I don't always want to use the big guns and have all the cleaning up to do when all I want is a shot of wheatgrass. This machine is just perfect for that. Goes together easily, simple instructions, easy to clean. Spare parts and useful tools are included. Sticks very well to my countertop, and efficiently munches through the greens. I would hesitate to use it for harder foods like carrots or apples, because it's not made for that purpose. Great for camping or traveling, as it is light and fairly compact, and no bother with electricity. Juice does not come out foamy, as sometimes happens with the big fast electric juicers.

It does pay to read the manual, and take note of tightening the nozzle at the pulp end. This helps a lot with getting as much of the juice out of the wheatgrass as possible.

Good value for money.

Customer Review: smaller than expected!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just got my juicer a week ago and am thrilled with it. It is so small and powerful, I have extracted a lot of juice from the bunches of grass that I cut, more than expected. I was skeptical and had my mind set on the Hurricane but it cost double what this costs and I wasn't sure if I would get into wheatgrass or not. I have not seen any problems with it so far, and I haven't had to use the clamp, the bottom suction is strong enough. I did find that rinsing the wheatgrass thoroughly before putting through helps move the grass blades better?!!
I highly recommend this for those that are just trying the at-home wheatgrass path and don't want to invest too much from the start. However, it is only for wheatgrass and SOFT leafed vegetables, one can tell by the design that carrots and hard fruits/veggies won't work in this. A centrifugal juicer is needed for those. All in all, this is a great little product!

Customer Review: Happygrass
Summary: 4 Stars

This juicer is great. It is really easy to use and clean. I found that if you crank the handle going forward several turns and then a do a few turns backwards you get more juice from the grass but overall the grass comes out dry so it juices really well. You should realize that it takes quite a bit of grass to get a full two ounces but I have very easily been able to juice a nice 1 oz shot every day with minimal clean up. This is really easy to assemble and keep clean. I wash it after a couple of juices for convenience every other day. It works best if it is clamped to a counter or table for stability.

I am very happy with this product and it really beats paying $2.50 per day for a shot and having to drive from place to place to find wheatgrass.
