This espresso maker is fairly silent. It takes me about 15 minutes to pump 16 psi, and about 30 seconds for the shot to be made after. If you want to make the shot stronger, then use a little less water (this can also cut the pump time to 5 minutes).
Nice workout for the forearm, easy and quick clean up, and overall stronger than the stuff you get at coffee shops.
