I received a set of Hampton Forge Bamboo flatware for my wedding from Target and this set is different. It is thinner and the shapes of the spoons are a little different. When I got my order I returned it a few days later and bought something else from a local store.
I should have listened to the negative reviews, but I didn't. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you don't mind thin flatware, buy this product. I didn't want to waste my money on flatware that would rust after washing in the dishwasher. If you like the bamboo design, pick up the one from Target. It is made by Hampton Forge, but is a better quality for some reason and it does not say "Hampton Forge" on the box but is engraved with "Hampton Forge" on the back of the flatware. The Target set does not rust when washed in a dishwasher.
Amazon will not charge you for return shipping if you use UPS. So, don't let shipping costs be the reason why you do not return this product. Thank God I took advantage of the free shipping, so I able to break even.
Description of Hampton Forge Bamboo Mirror 20-Piece Flatware Set
A nicely affordable choice for everyday use, this 20-piece set of Bamboo Mirror flatware from Hampton Forge offers service for 4-great for singles or families. This set includes 4-piece each of the following flatware: salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, dinner spoon, and teaspoon. Made of 18/0 stainless steel. Dishwasher safe with use of non-citrus detergent.For something out of the ordinary and definitely contemporary, Bamboo flatware rises to the occasion. Each long, slender piece features a round handle sculpted to resemble a segmented stalk of bamboo. A simple design reminiscent of a falling raindrop is inscribed in the top and bottom segment on each. The spoon bowls are quite round and oversized, and the fork heads are on the broad side. Weighted and balanced with care, Bamboo is polished to a mirror shine and feels delightful to use on a daily basis.
Four Bamboo Mirror place settings are included in this 20-piece set, each comprised of a dinner knife, dinner fork, salad fork, soup spoon, and teaspoon. Hampton Forge forges the pieces of 18/0 stainless steel, which means the steel contains 18 percent chromium for strength yet no nickel to provide corrosion-resistance. As a result, though dishwasher-safe, the flatware should be promptly washed and dried whenever possible. The manufacturer covers the flatware with a lifetime warranty. --Ann Bieri
