I spent some time reading the reviews before purchasing this product. I made sure it would work with my blender base by checking the model number. Make sure you do that!
It doesn't come with any blades inside the cup. But you don't expect that because you read the other reviews. You have to take the blades off of your blender pitcher at attach them to the bottom of the cup. Then, when you're done blending, you flip the cup over and swap in the bottom piece for the blades. No problem. That works fine. It's a bit more time consuming than you might like, but it's not too bad. And it's dishwasher safe, so you don't have to worry about the blades getting rusted/wrecked in the dishwasher.
That's what I expected based on the reviews and that's what I got.
That said, there's a pretty big design flaw. The lid has a part that flips up to allow you to sip from the cup. That part mashes straight into your nose so you have to tilt your head way back to get your smoothie to pour into your mouth. *Way back*. It's not safe for drinking and driving.
Even when you tilt your head way back to drink from this thing, you end up having a smoothie-tipped nose by the time you get to work unless you remember to check yourself.
I don't think anybody at the company could have tried drinking out of a prototype of this cup before giving the go-ahead. It's obviously bad.
FWIW, I don't have a particularly large nose. It might be bigger than average, but it's probably not even 70th percentile. YNMV
