Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor 67650Customer Review: Better than expected Summary: 5 Stars
I had been using an Omega juicer for over ten years but had to return if for repairs. Didn't know how long that might take and needed something in the interim so took a chance on the Hamilton Beach. Can't believe what a terrific unit this is; thought for all these years my expensive Omega must be the best, but this inexpensive Hamilton Beach is far superior. Its only fault is noise. Unlike the Omega, I rarely have to precut the veggies or fruit. With the Hamilton Beach I can stuff a small tomato or a beet or a fist full of carrots down the chute and it rarely slows down. Also, it seems to extract more juice than the Omega (though I couldn't make an accurate test on that account). And the Omega? The company did refurbish and upgrade the unit at no charge and sent it back within a week; but I'm so pleased with the Hamilton Beach, I just put the Omega on the basement shelf.
Customer Review: Great juicer, great price Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first juicer. I shopped around and based my purchase on the great reviews I saw on this juicer. It just goes to show that you don't have to pay $150 to get a quality juicer. This one does the job very well. It's really powerful and so far I've juiced apples, celery, oranges, pears, carrots, romaine lettuce, lemons, and watermelon. You should not juice soft fruits like strawberries and bananas or you will WASTE the fruit. It's best to juice other harder items first and then blend the soft fruit into your juice. I juice at least 3 times a day and it's doing great. I also love that it's not white. White or other lighter color juices will stain easily with green and orange veggies and fruits. Cleaning is a pain, but that's going to happen with any juicer you purchase. You should rinse parts off promptly (especially the basket) so that it will last longer.
Customer Review: Very good juicer Summary: 4 Stars
I've never owned a juice extrator before, and have only used this one once now, but I'm really happy with it. It does a very good job of extracting the juice. The juice to food ratio was a lot better than I thought it would be and the remaining solids have about the consistency of cookie dough. The only thing I don't like is that it kind of spits at you a little everytime you take the handle out to add more fruit or vegetables. Not very much, but you don't want to get any little dots of beets on your shirt. I don't know if other juicers do this, but I'm guessing thats the price you pay for getting the big mouth. We just threw a bunch of stuff in there that we had in the fridge: beets, kiwi, apples, pears, oranges, carrots, celery, then taste it and a little more sweet fruits, or a little more lemon and vegetables for tartness to get the taste right.
Customer Review: THIS IS THE BEST JUICER YOU CAN BUY BETWEEN $50 AND $300! Summary: 5 Stars
THIS IS A VERY HEAVY DUTY JUICER THAT WILL PROBABLY OUT LIVE YOU.
I HAVE BEEN USING MINE FOR 6 MONTHS, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS MINE IS ALL WHITE. I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT A JACK LA LANE ONE-IT HAD SOME PARTS MADE FROM PLASTIC AND IT BURN'T OUT WHILE I WAS JUICING BLUEBERRIES SO I TOOK IT BACK TO TARGET THEN I BOUGHT MY HAMILTON BEACH FROM WAL-MART. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. ALL ITS PARTS ARE METAL AND STRONG. I LIKED IT SO MUCH I BOUGHT ONE FOR MY PARENTS AND MY SISTER AND HER FAMILY. IT IS AS POWERFUL AS AN EXPENSIVE $1000 JUICER FOR ONLY $60 DOLLARS YOU CAN'T LOSE OUT ON THIS DEAL IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD JUICER I RECOMEND THIS ONE!
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST JUICER ON THE MARKET!!!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANY OTHER JUICER, AND
DON'T BELIEVE THE JACK LA LANE ADVERTISEMENTS AS THEY ARE ALL HYPE!
Customer Review: Just what I wanted! Summary: 5 Stars
An old roommate of mine had a juicer, and it was a nightmare. Huge, noisy, hot, it vibrated across the table when you turned it on, and leaked juice everywhere. It was white and stained and a b*tch to clean, and we hardly ever used it. I've wanted the benefits of juicing for a while, but I thought that's what juicers were like.
But no. This thing is a dream to clean, with the little brush for the wire mesh part. I juice a lot of carrots, and it doesn't seem to be staining the juicer at all. It's not hot and doesn't "travel." It's fast and no noisier than a blender, and *so* easy to take apart and put back together. And I love the energy I get from fresh juice.
Definitely put a plastic bag in the pulp bin before you use it - then you can throw the bag of pulp in the freezer and use it later for stock. :)
