Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor 67650Customer Review: Best Juicer: From Consumer Reports: The Company That Rates Products, and Rated This One as the BEST!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just saw a story about juicers on TV. I can't remember which channel or program, but it was NOT an infomercial or other advertisement.
It spoke of the more popular brands, some being the ones on infomercials, one of which has a jamming problem.
They said you don't have to spend a fortune on a juicer, and in fact the best tested and rated juicers was this model; i.e. with the big mouth and costing around $80.00. This information they obtained from "Consumer Reports". They have an online website, but the bulk of reviews are a subscription service.
I have not used a juicer, though my health would be better if I did. I digress from my own personal wellness.
I just wanted to though my 2 cents in, since I happened to come across juicer reviews and ratings from a well-known and trusted company in "[...]"!
I hope it helps you buy the best juicer at half the price of the most expensive. Usually you get what you pay for, but this is one of those exceptions. I could really get my veggies with a juicer.
Best of Luck and may God bless you and yours'!

Customer Review: Very Good Product Summary: 5 Stars
I've recently entered the wide wonderful world of juicing! For my initial entry I bought a cheapo, no name model and thought I would get by with it until I made up my mind on a permanent model.
The cheapo model wasn't bad but there were 7 different pieces to clean and the pulp was very wet, so wet that I had to put it back through the juicer. The whole process was clumsy and tedious.
Juicing is a time and labor intensive process but the health benefits are more than worth it. After reading the reviews I decided to take a chance on this machine and I'm glad I did. This machine makes the process a lot easier. The motor is powerful and it juices whole carrots and apples with ease (in the cheapo machine I had to cut or slice the veggies before juicing) and the pulp is dry. It is a little loud, but for me, that's no big deal. I sometimes make a carrot, apple and ginger juice that my friends have told me I should bottle and sell!
I love this juicer and don't mind the work involved because I am healthier and feeling better than I have in years! This was a good purchase and I highly recommend it! ENJOY YOUR JUICE!!
Customer Review: Excellent for beginning juicers who dont want to invest a ton of money Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first juicer, so I cant really compare it to others. In my research, I came across much advice telling me that quality juicers were not possible to find for less than $200, and that to buy an inexpensive juicer was to waste my money. However, I am so pleased with my HB juicer! It has substantial weight to it, so when the super powerful motor gets going, it wont tip, shake, or wobble across the counter. The motor is p-o-w-e-r-f-u-l! Scared me a little the first time I turned it on. Its a little louder than my dishwasher, maybe. Also, in all my research, I was told that the sign of a good juicer was in the pulp thats left behind (is it dry? or is there as much juice left in the pulp as there is in your glass?) Well, the pulp left behind is usually nothing more than moist sawdust. I was surprised how little pulp there is left after juicing veggies! If you put a grocery store bag in the pulp bin before juicing, then all you have to do is take it out and throw it away when youre done! One piece of advice-clean your juicer when youre done juicing, dont wait until all that gunk has dried and cemented onto the basket!
Customer Review: Powerful Juicer and Easy to Use! Summary: 5 Stars
I just received this juicer and used it for the first time this morning - wow! It's very powerful and fast; yes, it's noisy, but it's not like you're running it for more than a few minutes. I bought this to replace an 8-year-old Omega masticating juicer. To be fair, the Omega is still running great, and I will hang onto it because it has capabilities beyond juicing, but I got tired of the small feeding tube and the time it took to cut up my produce before juicing it. It also has a number of small parts, so assembling and disassembling it on a daily basis was a hassle. With the HB Big Mouth's wide tube (and fewer parts!), you can put in a whole cucumber at once! I did have to cut my apple in half, but still...the prep time is minimal. Do put a plastic bag in the pulp bin for faster clean-up, and do follow the manufacturer's suggestion of soaking the screen basket for a few minutes in hot soapy water immediately after use - you do not want to have to deal with trying to brush out dried vegetable and fruit pulp from the screen - almost impossible! Happy juicing everyone! I'll update this review in a few months.
Customer Review: Not worth all of the 5-star reviews Summary: 3 Stars
This is my first juicer purchase and I've come away a bit disappointed. Don't bother with this machine if you are interested in juicing softer fruits such as blueberries, cherries, and pineapple. All you'll get is a drip-drop of juice and a bunch of mush in the trash bin. It seems to do its job with carrots, celery, beets, and tomatoes. It seems so-so with apples and oranges, but again, the pulp is very moist, i.e. a lot of lost juice. As far as the recommendation to put a plastic bag in the bin, I don't see the point. You've got to wash basically the whole machine after use, so what's one more part? Why waste so many plastic bags to save 16 seconds? Also, if the bag doesn't fit right the bin won't fit and you're going to be cleaning up carrot shards that have blasted against the walls and floor (first juicing attempt). Bottom line, if you are just jumping into juicing and your likely to use it only for hard vegetables (carrots, celery), than I think it's alright to consider purchasing it. But in reality, that juicing need you feel will last for about 15 uses and this machine will be in your basement.
