Was a little leary about getting this because the price was so low, but there were many good reviews. I have used this 5 times, and each time it worked great(except for the time I tried to use table salt and the ice cream was crystalled). So, make sure to use rock salt. It is a little loud if you are going to use it when there are people around, so put it in the other room or something. Make sure to have at least 8 lbs. of ice. Ice Cream done in 20-30 minutes! Try the strawberry cheescake icecream recipe in the book that comes with it. It is so delicious!!!Customer Review: So far, so good...

Did the down-and-dirty "quickie" (no cooking) method the weekend we got this item. It is a little noisy, but not horribly so. It took about 30 minutes and stopped when done, a little longer than foretold: The ice/salt mixture needs a tweek. We used on-sale table salt. What we will do in the future is fine-tune the fat content. The full-fat deal will turn your heart to lard if too much is eaten. However, ice cream is to be eaten and enjoyed. Just not too much.
My wife has wanted one of these for many years and I believe we got the best for the price paid.

I am very impressed at how simple it is to make ice cream with this machine.It said it takes 20-40 mins to make but I used 2% milk instead of whole milk and it took a little longer.But who cares! It's electric.I just did like the instructions says and listened for it to slow down and or stop.It did and the ice cream was great.I used the quick and simple recipe ,not the one you have to cook.I can't wait to try out different things to add to the mix.Also I was very impressed at how quiet it is.It seems like most small appliances are very noisy but not this one.Customer Review: Great family freezer and pleaser!

This new ice cream maker is wonderful--much easier and faster than the ones we used when I was a kid growing up. And after a thorough search and price comparison, I found the cost was much less than many other brands and types of ice cream makers. My new husband's family (who had never had homemade ice cream before) enjoyed my old family recipe for fresh fruit sherbet at a big family celebration for two birthdays in the family soon after I bought it. guess I got what I paid for. entire apparatus is pretty dinky, lightweight, thin. the 1 gal aluminum freezer can had a dimple in the top rim - never could figure if it was supposed to be bent like that or was simply damaged at the factory; I was afraid that salt would leak into the bent rim, but it didn't. The cheesy operator manual didn't say anything about it. It took 45 minutes to make ice cream with this rig, and that was barely frozen. spend a few more bucks and get a better quality ice cream maker with a better insulated ice bucket.
