Features on papers are convincing and the product itself looks that it will deliver, however, i get frustrated every time I use this product to shave ice. The Victorio is a much better product in terms of what it was meant to do. The Hamilton does not consistently shave ice. I have to wait so long in order for a cup to be filled with a shaved ice. For the most part, the machine just keep making noise and the ice compartment just keeps turning without shaving the ice. Bad product to buy.Customer Review: Great design with a weak link

I recently purchased this ice shaver and really enjoyed it for a few days. It works well, is super easy to disassemble and clean, and I was starting to think about creative concoctions when .. clunk! ... the central post on the turning ice holder broke off and the thing was instantly rendered useless. That center post is screwed in but the little plastic neck in which the screw sits can't possibly take the rugged jiggling of ice and scraper for long, it seems. Unfortunately, this product just doesn't work. I couldn't get it to shave any ice. Normally Hamilton Beach makes great products, and this looked like one of them. Maybe if you have tiny pieces of ice, this would work. It seemed to like those better than the regular sized ice cubes. However, I really don't want to spend the time to pre-crush the ice before it gets shaved; that defeats the purpose of this product. I will be taking this back today and trying a different model.Customer Review: Love this machine!

This little machine works great. I have used it at least twice a week since I bought it a few months ago. Works much better than I thought it would since it was so cheap. My kids love it! Also made it once for my neices and nephews, and now when they come over they always ask to make slushies. On the downside shaved ice a little coarse, not really fluffy but that's okay, it holds the syrups better. Glad I purchased it, great for our hot Hawaiian days!Customer Review: Best Home Ice Shaver to date

Over the last ten years I've tried every home ice shaver that has been on the market. I tried all of the ones that use ice molds and the newer ones that use ice cubes including the original Hawaiian Ice and none them worked out of the box this well. And all of them died within weeks. I make a lot of slushies and this is a set & forget ice shaver at the right price! The only thing Hamilton Beach could have added to the machine is a pouring spout.
