Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Hamilton Beach 47665 BrewStation Plus 12-Cup Automatic Drip Coffeemaker

Customer Review: Buy something else!
Summary: 1 Stars

This coffee pot is the worst design ever:
-Water is added in the top at the back of the machine so there is no way to use this under the cabinets.
-After the unit is filled and ready to start brewing, there is no easy way to slide the unit back because of the rubber feet on the bottom. So now you have to pick up the big bulky unit and hope you don't make a mess.
-The coffee level window is obscured by condensation so you have to guess at how many cups are remaining.
- When you open the top to remove the used coffee grounds, hot condensation often falls on your hands.
-Making more than 10 cups of coffee will cause the grounds to "splash up" and get all over the top of the lid, into the fresh water tank. The tank and lid are connected to the electronics and not removable. There is no easy way to clean them.
Over 6 cups of coffee and it produces a weak flavor.

My recommendation...buy something else!

Customer Review: Not Disappointed in this coffee machine
Summary: 5 Stars

Our first Hamilton Beach BrewStation was purchased so many years ago I don't remember. It was always dependable until one morning recently I started to make coffee for breakfast, and it would not operate. There was no question that it would be replaced by another BrewsStation. My wife and I looked at many stores locally, but none of them carried the HB BrewStation. We actually purchased another brand, but was totally dis-satisfied. We finally thought to look on line and sure enough, Amazon had it listed. This is just a newer design than our old coffee maker. We are completely happy with this model and highly recommend it. It keeps coffee hot, and that's what's important to me. Plus our original HB lasted so many years without ever leavin us with a caffine headache. Customer Review: Still AWESOME after 1.5 years
Summary: 5 Stars

My hubby and I live on coffee. We've had several espresso and coffee makers. This one is our favorite, because it gives us exactly what we want from it. A fresh, hot, delicious cup of coffee, with no leaks, no mess and no carafe to clean or replace.

I can't speak for anyone else. I know that the only issue I can think of is that if you fill it all the way to the top (12 cups) and go to move the maker you will probably encounter some spillage. Otherwise I can not recommend it enough. I just finished setting it to self brew in the morning, because having a cup of coffee waiting for you is a splendid way to wake up.

On the plus side, since we drink so much coffee and the warming eventually does go off, I just add a cup of water to the pot and turn it back on. Then it rewarms my coffee and brews fresh, maybe not the true aficionado's way to do it, but works for me. It's just so easy. Genius. Love it!!!!

Customer Review: Nice Coffee Maker
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife and I were looking for a bigger coffee maker than our 4 cup (2 Real cups) unit. This one caught my eye for its lack of a glass carafe. My wife says it is UGLY. That said I am all about function over looks. I like that this unit is simple to use. It dispenses coffee directly into my cup, even as it continues to brew, such as when I don't want to wait for the whole thing to finish. My only complaint is that filling the coffee maker with water using the reservoir is awkward. I find it easier to just fill it with my coffee cup. (The wife and I usually just drink 3 cups at a time, during different times of the day) It makes a good cup of coffee too. The unit came with 3 paper filters and they lasted till my permanent metal filter came in, also from Amazon. The combination works VERY well, MUCH better than the metal filter/coffee maker I had before this one! I even like the looks of it!! (Don't tell my wife)

Customer Review: Impressively designed
Summary: 5 Stars

This device is easy to both prep and clean, with coffee and grounds basins that lift out cleanly via jointed handle.

The attention to detail is impressive. The design allows you to pour your first cup while it is still brewing. It uses a "rain" style irrigator to use all the grounds. When I unplug it for brief periods, it remembers its clock and programming settings.

The clock-based program mode uses a button push to enable for the following morning. I prefer this to my past machines which were completely automated and would cook an empty carafe when I forgot to prep the machine.

The only design flaw as I see it it is that the coffee level meter in the front is not easy to read, which is the only indicator of whether you have another cup waiting.

All told, I would buy this eact model again, were I to lose the one I have.
