About 7 months ago or I was happy with this product BUT a major problem with it now exists = the non-stick surface is chipping off - going into the sandwiches (?) Sent it back - they said they never received it. Would have tried another one from them but didn't get the chance. Check for this defect.. Bought this panini press for just that, to make panini. The press heats up quickly and stays hot until the last sandwich is made. Mine toasts evenly and heats up the contents of your panini in a snap, warm meats and gooey cheese...clean-up is easy both inside and out, the size is just perfect for storage and the snapping lock is very convenient. I got this for my brother for Christmas this year. He really liked it and I'm pretty sure it's still working. He made some great sandwiches, but I was more impressed with the price. For something as specific as this product, I would rather only pay 30-40 dollars, rather than the $80.00 that the other ones are. So, great price, great product. I really like the grill, it heats up in about 5 minutes and the sandwich grilling time is about 2-4 minutes. Sandwiches are grilled really well. My only complaint is that it is not easy to clean as the plates don't come off, so they have to be cleaned in place. Also, the top grill surface (at least for my item) is not totally nonstick, so it cannot be cleaned properly.Customer Review: Love it...but

I love this panini press. I've had it for 9 months and it's been great. All of sudden though, it stopped working. It just stopped-I didn't drop or wet the appliance. So disappointed. The only thing I don't really like is that it doesn't have an on/off button, but overall it does a great job and it heats up (when it worked) very quickly. Would definitely recommend.
